Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Boise State is coming home champions in both men’s and women’s golf!

The women’s team finished first at the New Mexico State Golf Iconic Classic, and Leia Chung is bringing home the individual title! As a team, the Broncos shot 13-under par, finishing six strokes ahead of the runner-up. It marks Chung’s third career victory and the second of the season, making her the first Bronco since Samantha Martin to win two tournaments in a season, and the first to ever win two tournaments during the same fall campaign.

Boise State men’s golf is coming back to Idaho with new hardware after the team finished first at the Oregon State Invitational this week. In addition to the team championship, Cole Rueck won the tournament’s individual title! As a team, the Broncos finished two-over par, good for the 19th team tournament win in program history, while Rueck won the seventh championship of his career.

🔼 Meant to Be. Australian punter Oscar Doyle has quickly become a star after his journey from Brisbane to The Blue. A transfer from Weber State who grew up playing Australian football, Doyle made headlines when he turned a botched snap into a touchdown pass during the Broncos’ win over New Mexico. He’s since proven to be one of the nation’s most efficient punters, averaging 44.6 yards per punt and becoming the first true punter in Boise State’s FBS era to throw a touchdown. From visa hurdles to viral highlights, Doyle says his move to Boise was meant to be.

🔼 Championship Time. The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship is coming to Boise from Nov. 2-8! Tickets for the championship are on sale now. MW students can grab tickets for $5, while adult tickets are $15 and youth and senior tickets are $10. You can also purchase tournament tickets for $40. We’ll see you there!

🔼 Match Day. And speaking of soccer, Boise State is back on the pitch tonight in the first of a two-game road trip. The Broncos will battle San Diego State tonight at 8 p.m. MT before traveling to Mexico for a game on Sunday, Oct. 19, at noon MT. Full game previews here.

🔼 Hold Serve. Boise State volleyball will take the court tonight to begin a four-match homestand. The Broncos will host San Jose State tonight at 6 p.m. MT, before welcoming Utah State (Oct. 18, 5:30 p.m. MT), UNLV (Oct. 23, 6 p.m. MT), and San Diego State (Oct. 25, noon MT). Boise State brings a 12-5 (4-2 Mountain West) record into tonight’s match, good for a tie for third in the conference standings.

🔼 Broncos in the NFL. How did Week 6 shake out for some of our favorite former Broncos in the NFL? Ezra Cleveland played a season-high 78 snaps as Jacksonville fell to Seattle, while Seattle’s DeMarcus Lawrence wreaked havoc over the Jaguars with five tackles, two sacks, and five QB hits.

Ashton Jeanty posted a career-high 23 rushing attempts while tallying 75 yards and a score as the Raiders beat the Titans. JL Skinner tied his season-high with 23 special teams snaps for the Broncos, and John Bates made his third start of the season for the Commanders. Bates is ranked fourth among NFL tight ends with at least 100 snaps this season in Pro Football Focus pass blocking.
