Good Morning, Bronco Nation!

Boise State will unveil an 11-foot bronze statue of Kellen Moore outside Albertsons Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 31, putting the most winning starting quarterback in college football history in permanent residence near Entry 1 Plaza. Moore was a four-time first-team All-American and the program’s first Heisman finalist before going on to win a Super Bowl as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator and take over as head coach of the Saints. Exact time of the unveiling is still to come, and Bronco Nation is invited.

What else is mixed into today’s edition of Good Morning, Bronco Nation?

🏆 Starts Upfront
🏈 Dynamic Duo
🔹 And so much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 B1 Feature: Attacking Adversity. Boise State running backs coach James Montgomery nearly lost his leg to acute compartment syndrome as a player at Washington State, fought his way back for a senior season, and now draws on that experience to guide a room that ranks ninth nationally at 234.5 rushing yards per game. He’s been a steady presence for both Dylan Riley and Sire Gaines through their own hardest moments, and the connection shows in a Stable that leads the nation in rushing through Riley’s 835 yards and closed out Fresno State with 13 straight run calls. Alex Semadeni’s full feature is worth your time.

🔼 B1 Feature. Bronco soccer players Jillian Anderson and Olivia Collins were the first two student-athletes to raise their hands when Academic Services and BroncoLife went looking for peer mentors to help reshape ACAD 101 and 197, the two five-week courses built for incoming Bronco student-athletes. The pair didn’t just show up to class, either, helping pick the topics, build the lessons, and run the time management session themselves, drawing on everything they wish they’d known as freshmen navigating a new campus, a new schedule, and a new level of independence. Five more student-athletes have since joined them, including gymnast Nesia Bat Yehudah and soccer teammates Natalie Collins and Kaitlyn Slocum, and the freshmen on the receiving end now have a built-in cohort from across all 18 Bronco sports. We love seeing upperclassmen pay it forward like this.

🔼 Prime Time Broncos. Boise State women’s basketball will make two national television appearances on The CW this season, visiting San Diego State on Jan. 10 at 2 p.m. MT and Washington State on Feb. 28 at noon MT. The San Diego State game marks the program’s first-ever appearance on The CW and its first national TV spot since 2023. The rest of the Broncos’ Pac-12 slate streams live on the Pac-12 YouTube channel, and season tickets are available now at BroncoSports.com/tickets.

🔼 Starts Upfront. Boise State’s offensive line has landed on the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll, putting the Broncos’ front five in the running for the only major college football award given to a unit rather than a single player. The group has paved the way for Dylan Riley’s nation-leading 835 rushing yards and a Bronco offense that controls the clock better than anyone in the country, all while keeping Maddux Madsen interception-free through 166 attempts. Team captain Roger Carreon grades out as the second-best right guard in the nation per Pro Football Focus, and the line now gets a week off before a Pac-12 trip to Washington State on Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. MT on USA Sports.

🔼 Snapping Up Honors. Boise State sophomore center Stewart Taufa has been added to the Rimington Award Watchlist, which recognizes the nation’s top center, becoming the first Bronco on the list since 2019. Taufa has started all six games and ranks fifth among FBS starting centers in Pro Football Focus run blocking grade.

🔼 Dynamic Duo. Boise State’s Maddux Madsen and Dylan Riley have landed on the Pony Express Award Watch List, which honors the best tandem in college football regardless of position. Madsen has yet to throw an interception while tossing 13 touchdowns, and Riley leads the nation in both rushing yards and all-purpose yards as the only FBS player with three runs of 70-plus yards.

🔼 On to the Next. Boise State volleyball took the first two sets from Washington State, 25-22 and 25-22, before the Cougars rallied to take the final three and the match in five. Azlynn Tittmann led the Broncos with 18 kills, Sydney Dreves added 17, and Kendall Hastings chipped in 13 kills and four blocks. Boise State owned the service line with eight aces to Washington State’s three, including three from Melia Barlow, who also posted a team-high 15 digs.

🔼 Broncos in the NFL. Boise State has 10 players and a head coach in action for Week Six, with the Seattle-Denver Thursday nighter already in the books. Sunday’s headliner puts two of them head to head when Ashton Jeanty’s Raiders host Khalil Shakir’s Bills at 2:25 p.m. MT. Shakir is coming off a 57-yard catch in overtime to help Buffalo move to 4-1 atop the AFC East, his second straight game with a 50-plus yard grab. Ezra Cleveland plays his second consecutive game in London as Jacksonville takes on Houston, and John Bates closes things out Monday night against the 49ers.

🔼 Stadium Stage Set. Zach Bryan is bringing his Young Manhood and Other Donatable Organs Tour to Albertsons Stadium on Friday, Aug. 6, 2027, with Ryan Bingham and The Texas Gentlemen and Gabriella Rose opening, and fans can register for presale now at ZachBryanPresale.com before tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. MT.
