Good Morning, Bronco Nation!

Boise State women’s hoops delivered a season-opening statement with an 84-48 rout of Bushnell, pulling down 50 rebounds and turning 26 forced turnovers into 26 points. CJ Latta was the headliner in her Bronco debut, hitting seven 3-pointers on eight tries for 21 points; it’s the most threes by a Bronco in a debut in program history. Zia-Daye Anderson added 11 points and four assists in her own first college game, and Mason Borcherding pulled down a career-high 10 boards.

What else is mixed into today’s edition of Good Morning, Bronco Nation?

🏈 Rookie Takeover
🏀 Season Starts
🔹 And so much more!

🔼 Rookie Takeover. Rasean Jones pulled in nine passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns in Boise State’s thrilling 46-45 win over Texas State, and the Pac-12 handed him both Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week. He’s the first player in the league to sweep both honors this season. Two of those scores came in the fourth quarter, the second one putting Boise State ahead, and he opened the game-winning drive with a 44-yard grab. He now paces the Broncos in catches, receiving yards, and yards per game, and ranks third among all FBS freshmen in that last category.

🔼 Season Starts. Happy Boise State Men’s Basketball Season Eve! The Broncos are back on the hardwood tomorrow night at 7 p.m. against West Coast Baptist, then are home on Sunday at noon against Butler. Grab your tickets!

🔼 Rained Out, Still Rolling. Boise State women’s tennis came away from the Thunderbird Invitational with four wins over Power Four opponents despite losing the first and third days to weather. Freshman Valentina Vachkova took two singles matches to push her fall total to nine, second most on the team, and notched her first career win against a Power Four opponent. The Broncos went a perfect 4-0 in doubles across the weekend and now head to Los Angeles for the ITA Sectional Championships.

Two Boise State women’s basketball freshmen (Zia-Daye Anderson and Mason Quinn) started the season opener in their collegiate debuts. When did that last happen?
