Good Morning, Boise State 2/27: Team Effort Takedown For MBB

Boise State MBB downed Utah State, 82-65, on Wednesday night at ExtraMile Arena, and the Broncos have now won seven of their last eight contests.

Good Morning, Bronco Nation!  Boise State MBB (20-8, 12-5 MW) downed Utah State, 82-65, on Wednesday night at ExtraMile Arena, securing the squad’s 12th 20-win season under head coach Leon Rice and a split in the two games against the Aggies (24-5, 14-4 MW). The Broncos have won seven of their last eight contests.
 
Tyson Degenhart paced all scorers with a game-high 21 points—his 28th career 20-point game. Andrew Meadow followed his career-high 24-point performance against Nevada with a 17-point effort against Utah State. Alvaro Cardenas stuffed the stat sheet and posted 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

🔼 Lady Rebels Ran With It. The Boise State WBB team had trouble taking care of the basketball in an 83-53 loss to UNLV, Wednesday night in Cox Pavilion. The Broncos (16-13, 6-10 Mountain West) committed 17 turnovers on the night and allowed the Lady Rebels (23-5, 15-1 MW) to score 22 fast break points.

Two Broncos scored in double figures in the loss. Natalie Pasco led the team with 12 points, shooting 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, while Dani Bayes drilled both of her 3-point attempts to finish with 11 points.

🔼 We Meet Again. The Boise State indoor track and field team will be partaking in the MW Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico, today through Saturday. The meet will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network, and live results can be found here.

At the 2024 MW Indoor Championships, the Broncos earned eight top-five finishes and five podium finishes. Overall, the men finished seventh and the women took ninth.

🔼 No Fly-By-Knight Performance. Gavyn Knight fired a 3-under 69 in the final round of the Lake Las Vegas Invitational on Wednesday to lead Boise State men's golf to a ninth place finish. Knight (73-70-69—212) finished at 4-under and tied for 12th. He played bogey free Wednesday and notched his fifth top 25 finish of the season.

Competing as an individual, Ryan Meyer (72-67-71—210) was 6-under and tied for sixth. He recorded an ace in round 2 and earned his best-career finish.
