Good Morning, Boise State 3/12: Keeping Watch

Plus: Senior night approaches for Boise State gymnastics.

Good Morning, Bronco Nation!

Boise State women’s basketball senior guard Natalie Pasco landed on the Women's College All-Star Game Watch List, putting her among nearly 100 of the nation's top seniors in the running for 20 roster spots at the April 4 showcase in Phoenix (ESPN2, 11 a.m. MT). Pasco has been one of the country's deadliest shooters this season, ranking 12th nationally in three-point percentage at 43.7% (80-of-183). Pasco has knocked down 275 career triples, the second-most in Boise State history.

🔼 Senior Night. Boise State gymnastics closes the regular season home slate tomorrow at 6 p.m. MT in ExtraMile Arena against No. 26 Southern Utah, with a Senior Night ceremony honoring Anna Ferguson, Kylee Hamby, Sydney Kho, Sydney Leitch, Brantley Lucas, and fifth-year Blake Pascal. The Broncos are peaking at the right time: they posted season-best marks on beam (49.150) and bars (49.100) at Cal on March 7, with Kristina Shchennikova's career-high 9.925 on bars standing as BSU's top individual score of the year. Freshman Miraya Nero has been sensational, winning two all-around titles (the first BSU freshman to do so since 2017) and posting the program's best all-around score (39.125) since 2021.

🔼 All-Tournament. Sophomore forward Libby Hutton was named to the Mountain West Women's Basketball All-Tournament Team after a standout showing in Las Vegas. Hutton posted a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) in the first-round win over San Jose State, then followed with a career-high-tying 25 points and seven boards in the semifinal against Air Force. She's the first Bronco to earn all-tournament honors since 2020 and the first BSU sophomore selected since Riley Lupfer in 2018, marking the 12th MW All-Tournament nod in program history.

🔼 A Season Ends. The Broncos' season came to a close in Las Vegas as San Jose State knocked off BSU 84-74 in the first round of the MW Tournament. Javan Buchanan went out swinging with a game-high 28 points and 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the season, while Andrew Meadow added 17 and Drew Fielder chipped in 12. BSU rallied from eight down to grab the lead late in the first half, but a Colby Garland three at the buzzer gave the Spartans a 41-39 halftime edge, and SJSU pulled away in the second half shooting 50% from the floor. The Broncos finish a solid 20-12 campaign that included a five-game winning streak to close the regular season, a MW Player of the Week award for Fielder, and Leon Rice's 13th 20-win season in 16 years at the helm.
