🔼 Down, Never Out. Boise State rallied from a point down twice to record its six-consecutive victory with a 5-2 win at Cal Poly on Wednesday in San Luis Obispo, California. The win improved the 42nd-ranked Broncos to 14-4 overall.
James Van Herzeele won his 74th career singles match to move into a tie for 18th all-time at Boise State.

🔼 Worth the Wait. Megan Lake grew up in Arizona and describes herself as “outgoing” and a “perfectionist.” Brooklynn Pettis is a California native who says she is “laid back” and “goes where the wind blows.”
While the seniors may have different personalities, they have traveled similar roads in their softball careers.
Both were inspired to participate in softball by an older family member who played in NCAA Division I. Each was recruited to Boise State by a previous coaching staff member. Both saw limited playing time for two years.
Patience paid off for the duo. As seniors, Lake and Pettis have combined for 53 starts through 30 games.

🔼 Home Field Advantage. Boise State will play its first home Mountain West series (March 21-23, 6 p.m./2 p.m./Noon MT) when it hosts Nevada at Dona Larsen Park. The Broncos are looking to use the momentum of just coming off a doubleheader sweep at Pacific, March 18.
Boise State is 8-2 against Nevada under Justin Shults and 14-10 at home.
🥎 : SCOUTING REPORT

🔼 Big Implications in the Bayou. Boise State beach volleyball is in Thibodaux, Louisiana, for the Southland Conference Midseason Tournament, hosted by Nicholls State. The Broncos (6-9, 2-0 SLC) will begin the three-day event today with a 9 a.m. MT dual against league-newcomer Stephen F. Austin.
The team that boasts the best league record following the three-day event will be deemed the SLC Regular Season Champion and earn the top seed in the conference tournament in April. Boise State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, who meet each other at 11 a.m. MT on Sunday in each team's final dual of the event, are tied for first in the conference standings at 2-0.

🔼 Commencing Cali Action. Today’s Hornet Invite is the inaugural meet of the 2025 outdoor season, which features at least 14 meets, and is highlighted by Boise State’s first home meet in six seasons on April 25. It takes place at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California, and live stats can be found here.
The Broncos are coming off of an indoor season in which 11 athletes earned All-Mountain West honors. Boise State returns two of its three all-conference runners from the 2024 outdoor season.
🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA
The Sands of Time … And Dubs. Today’s trivia question… The Broncos beach volleyball team only joined the SLC before the 2023 season. What is the squad’s record against conference opponents?
