Good Morning, Boise State 3/24: Sunday, Sand & Season Champs
Boise State clinched the Southland Conference Regular Season Championship on Sunday by winning all six duals of the conference midseason tournament.
Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Boise State clinched the Southland Conference Regular Season Championship on Sunday by winning all six duals of the conference midseason tournament.
After winning its first five contests of the three-day event, the Broncos (12-9, 8-0 SLC) defeated three-time defending champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-2, in a de facto championship match in the final dual of the weekend to secure the regular season crown. Boise State's title marks the first regular season championship in program history and secures the top seed in the 2025 SLC Beach Volleyball Championship, which takes place April 23-25 in New Orleans.

๐ผ Fab Four. Boise State earned four Mountain West yearly awards, the conference announced Friday. Head coach Tina Bird was named coach of the year, Kristina Shchennikova was crowned co-freshman of the year, while Emily Lopez and Alyssa Vulaj earned specialist of the year on bars and vault, respectively.
Coach and Freshman of the Year are voted on by each head coach in the MW, while Specialist of the Year is determined by the highest NQS in the conference.

๐ผ The E-Squared Show. Boise State placed second at the 2025 Mountain West Gymnastics Championships, Saturday afternoon, scoring 195.950. Emily Lopez was named vault and bars co-champion, while Emma Loyim was crowned floor champion.
The Broncos wait for the selection show today on ESPNU to determine where they are headed for NCAA Regionals. The team will either travel to Salt Lake City, Utah; Seattle, Wash; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; or University Park, Pa., for the competition from April 2-6.

๐ผ Getting Ducks in a Row. Boise State men's golf will compete in the 35th annual Oregon Duck Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon and taking place at the Eugene Country Club (Eugene, Oregon) today and tomorrow. The 54-hole event begins with an 8:30 a.m. PT shotgun start each day.
The squad is looking to build off recent momentum, as the Broncos finished in a second-place tie (877, +25) at the Bandon Dunes Collegiate (March 9-11). Cole Rueck has already recorded first-place finishes in two events, winning the Genesis Collegiate Showcase at Torrey Pines for the second-straight year, while also claiming victory at the Loyola Intercollegiate.

๐ผ The Growth Mindset. The Boise State women's tennis team dropped its third consecutive match, losing 4-2 to No. 44 San Diego State, Sunday afternoon.

๐ผ Hornet Invite Didnโt Sting a Bit. The Boise State track & field team opened its 2025 outdoor season with 34 personal bests and 11 top-10 finishes over the two days of competition at the Hornet Invite.
Senior Alyssa Cullen impressed on day one, placing eighth in the women's 200-meters in a field of 94 runners. The Broncos also saw three personal bests in field events, as Alexee Kline and Ruby Sereday both set top marks in the hammer, while Addie Winter and Gabbie Hasskamp posted PRs in the javelin.

๐ผ Linking Up in California. The Boise State womenโs golf team will continue competition with a trip to Millbrae, California, to compete in the Silicon Valley Showcase today and tomorrow, March 24-25. The Broncos will play two rounds today and one round tomorrow, with both days featuring a 9:30 a.m. MT shotgun start.
Boise State finished sixth at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate, with Hannah Lim tying for third at 219 (+3). This marked the highest finish of the seniorโs career.
