Good Morning, Boise State 3/9: WBB Punches Q-Finals Ticket
With Sunday's victory over Nevada, Boise State MBB advances to the quarterfinal round and will face top-seeded UNLV today at 1 p.m. MT.
Good Morning, Bronco Nation! The Boise State WBB team ended the game on a 7-0 run to secure a 54-48 victory over No. 9 Nevada in the opening round of the 2025 Mountain West Basketball Championships, Sunday.
Trailing 48-47 with 1:23 left on the clock, Tatum Thompson drilled her signature midrange jumper to give the Broncos (18-14) the lead. Boise State locked in defensively, registering two stops down the stretch and finishing the game 5-of-6 from the charity stripe to secure the victory.
Boise State advances to the quarterfinal round and will face top-seeded UNLV today at 1 p.m. MT.

🔼 T’d Up for Success. Tatum Thompson was named to the 10-player All-Mountain West team.
Thompson had a breakout season for the Blue and Orange, leading the team in scoring (13.2 points per game), rebounding (6.8 rebounds per game) and steals (1.2 steals per game). The junior was also effective from the charity stripe, becoming the 11th Bronco in program history to bury over 100 free throws in a season.

🔼 Senior Day Success. Boise State women's tennis won its ninth match of the season with a dominating performance over Utah Tech on Senior Day, defeating the Trailblazers 6-1 at the Appleton Tennis Center. With the victory, the Broncos improved to 9-2 overall.
Zdena Safarova won her eighth match at No. 1 singles in spring duals. The doubles tandem of Safarova and Maya Dutta won their sixth match together on court one. The doubles team of Ryan Kershner and Lorelyz Marruffo improved to 8-1 this spring and 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

🔼 Circle Up For Super Softball News. Olivia Bauer pitched 4 2/3 innings of no-hit relief and Boise State homered three times in a 9-3 victory over Montana at the Black and Orange Classic, Sunday. Bauer (4-1) retired 14 of the 15 batters she faced and struck out a season/career high seven.
Boise State has homered in a school-record 14-straight games. Sophia Knight extended her hitting streak to a school-record 26 games with a single in the first. Makenzie Butt became the second Boise State freshman to register 40 RBI—freshman record holder Devon Bridges had 53 in 2011.

🔼 What’s Next. Boise State MBB dropped its regular season finale on Friday night, losing to Colorado State, 83-73. The Broncos (22-9, 14-6 Mountain West) conclude the regular season at an impressive 13-2 at home.
Andrew Meadow paced all Broncos with a team-high 22 points. He has scored 20 or more points in three of his last five games. Alvaro Cardenas posted 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists in over 38 minutes of game action. Tyson Degenhart added 15 points and nine rebounds in the contest.

🔼 Sandy Setback. Boise State beach volleyball nearly pulled off a pair of upsets during the toughest weekend of competition of its season. The Broncos (3-6) fell 3-2 to both No. 12 Florida Atlantic and No. 13 Texas, while also dropping matches to No. 4 TCU and No. 7 Florida State at the TCU Invitational.

🔼 Lopez and Vulaj Continue to Shine. Emily Lopez and Alyssa Vulaj highlighted No. 29 Boise State's performance against No. 21 Southern Utah as the Broncos lost, 196.900-196.300.
Lopez earned the beam title on the night, while Vulaj was named co-champion on vault.
