Good Morning, Bronco Nation! File this under “NOT APRIL FOOL’S!” Led by five double-figure scorers, Boise State MBB defeated George Washington, 89-59, on Monday afternoon at MGM Grand Garden Arena—the squad’s fifth 30-point victory of the season.
 
Tyson Degenhart paced all players with a game-high 19 points. He shot 8-for-12 from the floor, added four rebounds and tied his career high with three steals. Pearson Carmichael collected a career-high six steals and became just the sixth MW freshman to accomplish the feat in a single game.

Boise State advances to the quarterfinal round of the Crown tournament and will play Butler tomorrow. Airing live on FS1, tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. MT.

🔼 “Butt” Wait, There’s More! For the second time this season, Makenzie Butt has been named MW Softball Freshman of the Week.

Butt batted .455 (5-for-11) during a three-game sweep at UNLV. She homered in each game, including a grand slam in the series finale. Her 16 home runs this season lead all NCAA freshmen and are tied for third nationally.

🔼 Don’t Fall For It. Sure, sure, we know autumn is the season we typically associate with football, but there’s just something about spring football that gets us the perfect amount of amped.

🔼 Now That’s a Tall Order. Boise State head volleyball coach Shawn Garus has announced the addition of two transfers for the 2025 season. Joining the program are Kailyn Jager from UC Riverside and Jazi Smith from Montana Western.
 
Jager is a 6-foot outside hitter from UC Riverside. In her lone season with the Highlanders, she played in 116 sets in 2024, recording 191 points on 148 kills, 32 service aces, one block solo, and 20 block assists as a junior. Smith is a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Montana Western. She was an AVCA NAIA All-American Second Team honoree in 2024 and an AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention in 2023.
