Good Morning, Boise State 4/2: Spring Is In The Air

Plus: Boise State is ready for regionals.

Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Mark the calendar: the 2026 Broncos make their spring debut on Saturday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. MT at Albertsons Stadium with free parking and general admission. Fans can get a firsthand look at the North End Zone Project's progress (on schedule to open for the September 12 home opener vs. Memphis), explore premium sight lines, and purchase club seats on site.

The day kicks off with lots open at 11 a.m. and gates at 12:30 p.m., followed by warm-ups, individual drills, and a live scrimmage on The Blue. After the game, players will sign autographs on the field while the Optimist Youth Football league hosts its Spring Jamboree flag football scrimmage on the other half.

🔼 On Deck. The Broncos (18-20, 4-5 MW) welcome New Mexico (15-19, 3-6 MW) for a three-game home series starting tonight at 6 p.m. Boise State is looking to rebound after a heartbreaking series loss at Colorado State, where a walk-off three-run homer in the seventh ended Sunday's rubber match. Head coach Justin Shults needs 14 more wins to become BSU's all-time winningest softball coach, while the Broncos hold a 14-4 advantage in games played at home against the Lobos. Full preview here.

🔼 Ready for Regionals. Boise State sends a trio of All-Mountain West gymnasts to the NCAA Regional Championship in Corvallis, Ore., tomorrow at 2 p.m. MT (ESPN+). Kristina Shchennikova and Mahleea Werline will compete on bars, where both share the team-best NQS of 9.850 (fifth in the MW). Shchennikova posted BSU's top individual score of the year, a career-high 9.925, at Cal and is the only Bronco with event titles in multiple apparatus during her career. Werline enters on a streak of seven straight bars routines at 9.825 or better, including a career-high 9.900 on Senior Night. Senior Sydney Kho represents BSU on beam with a team-leading NQS of 9.845 (sixth in the MW), riding her own seven-meet streak of 9.800+ beam scores capped by a career-best 9.900 at Stanford. All three earned All-MW Second Team honors alongside Blake Pascal (floor) and Miraya Nero (all-around).

🔼 Ranked & Rolling. Boise State women’s tennis checks in at No. 44 in the national UTR rankings! The team is back at it today vs. San Jose State at 1 p.m. MT. Preview here.

🔼 Ready To Go. Boise State women’s golf tees off at the State of Idaho Match today! Full preview here.

🔼 On Par. Chase Gorder and Reese Knox will represent Boise State in the 18-player Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase today at Bluejack National in Montgomery, Texas. The individual champion earns an exemption into the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship on the PGA Tour (July 16-19). Boise State has owned this event, with Cole Rueck winning back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025 to become the showcase's first two-time champion. This marks the first Genesis appearance for both Gorder and Knox, and BSU is again one of just a few programs with multiple representatives. The Broncos carry a 72-43-3 team record with two team and individual championships this season.
