Good Morning, Bronco Nation! The annual Best of the Blue awards were presented at the Egyptian Theatre in downtown Boise Monday night. These awards were created to celebrate and recognize the commitment to excellence that student-athletes and staff devote to all 18 sport programs at Boise State.

The Best of the Blue awards are a program under the direction of BroncoLife.  BroncoLife provides programming to encourage and empower student-athletes to act and behave in accordance with their values, be positive influences in their community and discover their full potential as leaders in both their college careers and lives after Boise State.

🔼 Bar-Raiser. After leading Boise State to its first College Football Playoff appearance and back-to-back MW championships, head coach Spencer Danielson has signed a contract extension through the 2029 season.

Danielson, 36, completed his first full season leading the Broncos in 2024 and took the program to the top-10 in national rankings, earned the program's first back-to-back Mountain West titles and grabbed the No. 3 seed in the College Football Playoff as one of the highest ranked conference champions. The Broncos turned in a 12-win season, which matched their most wins in a single-season over the last 10 years.

🔼 MBB Lands BB! The coaches of the Boise State MBB team have been hard at work bolstering the roster for next season.

🔼 Four-Bagger Fame Incoming. Boise State freshman Makenzie Butt is ranked ninth in this week's Softball America First Base Player Power Rankings.

Butt leads the Mountain West and NCAA freshmen in home runs (21), home runs per game (0.43), RBI (73) and RBI per game (1.49). She is second nationally in RBI and RBI per game, tied for fifth in home runs and seventh in home runs per game. Butt is the 12th freshman in NCAA history to have at least 20 home runs and 70 RBI.

During that time as the fill-in head coach, he guided the Broncos to three straight wins and a Mountain West championship, making history as the first interim FBS head coach to win a conference title game.
