Boise State Athletics has hired MMQ Group to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study on modernization opportunities at ExtraMile Arena and the east side of Albertsons Stadium, with results expected by summer 2026. At Albertsons Stadium, the study will examine widening concourses, expanding restrooms and concessions, and increasing lower bowl capacity. At ExtraMile Arena, the focus will be on premium seating, basketball practice facilities, and a reimagined main entry experience. More details here.

Boise State assistant athletic director Keita Shimada is heading to the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer as a key behind-the-scenes partner for Japan's national team, coordinating mobile cryotherapy recovery units across the Blue Samurai's group-stage matches in Dallas and Monterrey. The Tokyo-born athletic trainer leveraged his professional network to connect the Japanese Football Association with a vendor and has already mapped contingency logistics for every possible knockout-round path, so far ahead of schedule that other national teams were still scrambling at a recent FIFA operations meeting. As a bonus, Shimada's wife and young son will fly in from Tokyo to join him in the stands for Japan's final group-stage match.
