Plus: Competing at the NCAA Championship.
Good Morning, Bronco Nation!
Boise State Athletics launched the Boise State Sports & Entertainment Group, a first-of-its-kind in-house department in college sports dedicated to booking and supporting events year-round at Albertsons Stadium and ExtraMile Arena. Albertsons Stadium has become Idaho's premier outdoor concert venue with sold-out shows from Garth Brooks, Luke Combs, and Post Malone, and will host Hot Wheels Monster Trucks and Banana Ball this summer. ExtraMile Arena draws more than 400,000 in total attendance annually across 100-plus events. The new group is part of Boise State's What's Next 2.0 strategic initiative to maximize revenue and elevate the fan experience.

🏡 Welcome to Boise

🔼 Road Trip. Boise State men's basketball will make its first trip to Wichita on Dec. 5 to complete a home-and-home series with Wichita State that began with a 62-59 Bronco win at ExtraMile Arena last season. It is the second game announced for the 2026-27 schedule, joining a Nov. 15 neutral-site matchup against Nebraska in Sioux Falls, S.D. Head coach Leon Rice enters his 17th season with eight returning players, five transfers, and two freshmen.
🔼 To the Championship. Boise State is sending eight women and six men to the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark., from May 27-30. The group is headlined by Mountain West outdoor champions Kaiya Robertson (1500 meters), Alex Thompson (1500 meters), and Raekwon Weatherspoon (long jump), along with freshman Aayden Simmons, who scored 24 points at the conference meet with personal-best runner-up finishes in the high jump and long jump. Emily Jobes, Abby Kendrick, Victoria Lotz, and Brian Kiprotich also earned podium finishes at the Mountain West Championships heading into the postseason.

🔼 Welcome to Boise. Boise State track & field announced the addition of Cornelius Kogo, a Kenyan native, who won the 2025 NJAA Cross Country Individual National Championship at Hutchinson CC.
The Broncos also welcomed Finn Anspach, a distance runner from Oregon, who competed in the 1,500 meter and the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2026 WAC Outdoor Championships. Anspach transfers to Boise State from Cal Baptist.

🔼 One Stride at a Time. Boise State track and field athletes Gabs Chiara, Ruby Sereday, and Emily Jobes founded a Boise chapter of Run Your City, a volunteer-driven organization offering free running opportunities for children. What started with just five kids in the fall grew to 120 participants by spring, with the student-athletes leading sessions every Sunday at Julia Davis Park covering sprints, distance running, and even foam javelin throwing. The trio leaned on teammates to help manage the growth, and the impact went both ways; many Run Your City kids showed up at Boise State's home meet with signs to cheer on their coaches. Head coach Pat McCurry praised the athletes for building the chapter entirely on their own initiative.
🔼 Top Mark. Boise State men’s tennis finished with the most singles wins this season of all teams that are ranked in the ITA!
🔼 Keep Rolling. Masa Viriant is staying hot at Italy’s W15 Grado! Viriant defeated Jessica Bertoldo in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5, to advance to the tournament’s quarterfinals.
