Good Morning, Boise State 6/26: A Love Letter to Boise

Boise came in at No. 2 on the Architectural Digest's list of best places to live, and we couldn't agree more.

Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Architectural Digest just re-posted their list of top cities to live in the U.S. that was originally posted in January, and Boise came in at No. 2! Sometimes, you have to sit back and admire the school you go to (or went to), and how lucky these students and student-athletes are to be in the Treasure Valley!

From A.D.:

“With its hiking, biking, and river surfing, Boise has long been heralded as a haven for outdoor adventure lovers. And culturally speaking, it has the chops to lure both San Franciscans and Angelenos from the Golden State. The Opera Idaho, Idaho Dance Theatre, Boise Philharmonic, Boise Art Museum, and Ballet Idaho are all based here. For creatives craving both the great outdoors and a thriving arts community, nearby Garden City is the place to be…”

🔼 A Deep Dive Into “WHAT’S NEXT.” BoiseDev writes of their recent sit-down with A.D. Jeramiah Dickey:

“Concepts Boise State is considering could involve developing a large empty parking lot between Albertsons Stadium and Broadway Ave. with a private partner, along with upgrades to the east side of the stadium and ExtraMile Arena using private credit. The goal is to generate more revenue as the school works to compete in a rapidly changing landscape.”

“The goal is not to take on debt to pay student athletes,” Dickey said. “My goal and our vision is, as our industry changes, how do we stay ahead of it and how do we get that influx of cash to invest in assets that will create a sustainable model.”

This comes on the heels of the announcement about BAGS, Bronco Athletics Growth Solutions (BAGS), a strategic and entrepreneurial initiative designed to evaluate and accelerate nontraditional revenue opportunities supporting the comprehensive growth and sustainability of Bronco Athletics.

🔼 Longer Than a CVS Receipt. ICYMI! The 2025 Phil Steele Preseason All-Mountain West teams were announced, as the Boise State football team led the conference with 13 first team selections and 18 total honorees.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: “Statue Left”

In the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, Boise State defeated Oklahoma in a game known for its dramatic finish, including a Statue of Liberty play on a two-point conversion attempt to take the win. The play, dubbed "Statue Left" by the Broncos, involved a fake pass from Jared Zabransky to Ian Johnson, who then ran it in for the conversion. This and other trick plays helped Boise State secure the nail-biter 43-42 victory.
