💙 B1: Feature On Kelsey Messer
🏀 Next steps for Álvaro Cárdenas
🔷 And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 His Passing Reputation Preceded Him. Valencia Basket has secured the rights to one of the top passers in the NCAA with the addition of point guard Álvaro Cárdenas (1.85m, Granada, 04/29/2002, 23 years old), who has signed with the “taronja” club for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2027. The Club believes in the potential and room for growth of the Granada-born player, who wrapped up his senior season at Boise State University, averaging 11.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He was the top passer in the MW Conference. He ranked 11th in all of NCAA Division I in the metric that measures ball-handling and the ability to create quality shot opportunities for teammates.

🔼 That’s the Spirit. Kelsey Messer wasn’t just passionate about cheer but excelled at it, and she knew this was something she wanted to pursue in college. She took a leap of faith after she came across an “open tryouts” section on the Boise State Athletics webpage.

“Senior year was the end of both the Kellen Moore era and the end of coach Pete (Chris Petersen) era and I remember being in a dark room crying, and thinking this is terrible,” Messer said. “But, my senior year, we won the Fiesta Bowl. The basketball team made the NCAA Tournament twice (2013, 2015) so it was the best of both worlds."

🔼 Itty Bitty Broncos. X user P Blaze had high praise for the camp, tweeting, “My two boys had the best time. They will be back next year, no doubt. Thank you coaches, players and other Bronco team members!”

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Zero!

This year marks the first time in school history that both the Boise State men's and women's tennis teams have been ranked first in the same season. It is the fifth time – and the first since 2014 – in program history that the Broncos topped the regional team ranking since it began in 2008.

🔷 Have a fabulous week, Bronco Nation!
