🔼 B1 Feature: Giving Back. Derek Ganter Jr. had one Division I offer coming out of high school, and he made the most of it. His first collegiate snap at Eastern Washington came on a fourth-and-eight late against Weber State, where he broke up the pass to seal the win. He went on to lead the Eagles with 95 tackles as a redshirt freshman and earn Phil Steele Freshman All-American First Team honors before transferring to Boise State. Off the field, Ganter spent winter conditioning coaching basketball and baseball at North Junior High, turning down pay to do it. His reasoning was simple: he wanted to give kids what he got.

🔼 Record Streak At Home. Boise State soccer set a new program record last night, blanking Southern Utah 2-0 to push its home unbeaten streak to 12 straight matches. The Broncos struck less than two minutes in when Sophie Schmautz buried a rebound off a Campbell Wilson header, then added a second in the 44th minute on the first career goal for Tambree Bell and the first career assist for Sophia Avalos. Boise State piled up a season-high 26 shots to Southern Utah's four, and Ava de Leest posted her fifth shutout of the season. It's the Broncos' fifth straight win.

🔼 Season Starts. Boise State cross country opens the 2026 season today at the 40th annual Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, with the women's 6k at 9:30 a.m. MT and the men's 8k at 10:15 a.m. MT. Sixteen new Broncos will race, nine of them making their collegiate debuts. The women's squad is receiving national votes after finishing 22nd at the NCAA Championships last season, with second-team All-Mountain West runners Bianca Boehnke and Amit Koma leading the way. It's one of three regular season meets before Boise State hosts the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships at Warm Springs Golf Course on Oct. 30.

🔼 Career Nights Everywhere. Boise State volleyball went the distance with Wyoming last night in Pocatello, dropping a five-setter despite a night full of career bests. Azlynn Tittmann set a new personal high with 15 kills, Kendall Hastings added a career-best 14 on a .619 clip, and freshman Sadie Snyder chipped in 10 of her own. Tehya Maeva ran the offense to a career-high 31 assists, her first 30-plus match, while Athena Cox posted a career-high five blocks. The Broncos set three season highs with 64 kills, 60 assists, and 10 service aces. Boise State faces Pacific this afternoon at 3 p.m. MT.

🔼 Broncos in the NFL. Nine former Boise State players and head coach Kellen Moore are in action for Week Two of the NFL season, with two games featuring ex-teammates squaring off. Ashton Jeanty is coming off a monster debut, running for 102 yards and hauling in two receiving touchdowns. Khalil Shakir caught four passes for 50 yards in Buffalo's win, and DeMarcus Lawrence posted three tackles and a quarterback hurry as Seattle forced three turnovers.
