🔼 Road Battle. Boise State walked into Autzen and gave No. 2 Oregon everything it could handle before falling 34-27. The Broncos led the entire first half and were still knotted at 24 entering the fourth quarter. Maddux Madsen threw three touchdown passes and passed Hank Bachmeier for seventh all-time in program history with 6,767 career yards. Freshman Rasean Jones announced himself with four catches for 76 yards, while safety Travis Anderson posted a career-high 11 tackles. Boise State is back home Saturday to host Memphis at 4 p.m. MT.

🔼 Classic Champs. Boise State volleyball claimed the Boise State Classic title in its first weekend back at ExtraMile Arena, sweeping North Dakota State and UNLV before dropping a five-setter to Idaho State on the final day. Sydney Dreves was named tournament MVP after a career-high 19 kills and her first double-double of the season Saturday, with Melia Barlow and Azlynn Tittmann joining her on the all-tournament team. Kendall Hastings owned the net all weekend, leading the Broncos in blocks in every match and posting a season-high six against the Bengals. Boise State welcomes No. 24 BYU to ExtraMile Arena on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. MT.

🔼 Back Together Again: Everybody loves a good reunion, right? Starting Sept. 18, Varsity B will host eight alumni reunions this fall, beginning with swim & dive. All athletic alumni are encouraged to RSVP for their respective sport and can do so by visiting Athlete Network. After all, once a Bronco, ALWAYS a Bronco!

🔼 New Assistant Aboard. Boise State men's tennis has added Ben Cook to its staff as an assistant coach. Cook brings 12 years of coaching experience, including seven at the collegiate level, most recently as head coach of both the men's and women's programs at Emmanuel, where he guided the men to a No. 30 national ranking. He also spent time as an assistant at UC Irvine, helping the program to its first winning record since 2019, and served as interim head coach of the Caltech women's team during a season that ended with a No. 19 national ranking.

🔼 Nominate a Hero. Boise State Athletics and Les Schwab are back for the tenth year of the Community Hero program, honoring the people who make the Treasure Valley stronger. One Community Hero will be selected for each of the Broncos' six home football games this season, and each honoree receives four tickets to the game, a $500 Les Schwab gift card, and the chance to walk out onto The Blue for an on-field recognition. Past honorees have included an Olympian, military members, teachers, first responders, and youth who saved cattle. Nominations are open now at broncosports.com/communityhero.
