Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Ashton Jeanty collected another national award, winning the 2024 Bobby Bowden Trophy. It’s given to an FBS player who has exemplary character and epitomizes what it means to be a student-athlete.

Behind Jeanty, Boise State finished 12-2 and earned the No. 3 seed in the CFP. The Broncos won their second-straight MW title and appeared in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.

Jeanty declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, concluding his career as the program's all-time leader in rushing yards (4,769), yards per carry (6.4), yards per game (119.2), 200-yard rushing games (8) and 100-yard rushing games (22).

🔼 The Best, Bar None. Boise State gymnastics opened the 2025 season finishing second at a quad meet at Washington on Friday. The Broncos (195.050) earned victories over Washington (194.800) and No. 29 UC Davis (193.375), but fell to Stanford (195.600). Fifth year Emily Lopez won the bars title with a 9.850.

The Broncos posted a 48.550 on vault, but Stanford took the lead at the conclusion of the third rotation. The team put up a 48.650 in the final rotation, where Lopez performed the last bars routine of the night and scored another 9.850, the highest of the meet.

🔼 Charlotte’s Web … Of Success. Earlier this week, FootballScoop.com announced Boise State’s own Charlotte Siegel was named the 2024 Football Operations Director of the Year. The award is selected annually by prior winners. Siegel was hired prior to the 2023 season after spending 10 years with the football program at Vanderbilt.

🔼 Five Alive. Five former Boise State players will represent the Blue and Orange and NFL Wild Card Weekend kicks off. The action begins Saturday when Scott Matlock and the Los Angeles Chargers travel to Houston for a 2:30 p.m. game against the Texans. Sunday features an 11 a.m. battle between former teammates Khalil Shakir (Buffalo Bills) and JL Skinner (Denver Broncos). John Bates and Jeremy McNichols cap the weekend with the Washington Commanders, playing in a Sunday night showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

🔼 Dawg Days. Boise State women's basketball nearly pulled off a comeback attempt, but couldn't rally past Fresno State Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center. The Broncos (12-6, 2-3 Mountain West) were defeated by the Bulldogs (11-6, 2-2 MW), 68-62.

Trailing by as much as 10 points late in the second half, Boise State cut the deficit down to three points when Tatum Thompson converted a layup midway through the fourth quarter. Fresno State responded with an 8-2 spurt down the stretch to clinch the victory. 

🔼 A Little Blue Birdie Told Us. Congratulations to Boise State women’s golfer Emily Cadwell on those impressive results!

🔼 AGGravating. Despite making a season-high 14 three-pointers, Boise State dropped a heartbreaker to the Aggies on Saturday and fell, 81-79. The Broncos (12-5, 4-2 MW), who were previously on a two-game road winning streak, are now 2-2 on the road this season.
 
Four Broncos scored in double figures led by Tyson Degenhart, who totaled a game-high 22 points.
