Good Morning, Bronco Nation! Led by Javan Buchanan's game-high 19 points, Boise State collected its 10th double-digit win of the season and beat Nevada, 66-56, on Wednesday night inside ExtraMile Arena. The Broncos (14-7, 6-4 MW) improved to 9-1 at home.
 
Notching his 13th double-figure scoring effort, Buchanan made seven of his 12 field goals attempts and added five rebounds in 30 minutes of play off the bench. Alvaro Cardenas totaled 18 points and five assists, while Tyson Degenhart, who collected his 93rd double-digit scoring effort of his career and upped his total to 1,738, had 17 points.

🔼 Courting Success. Zdena Safarova was named the Mountain West Player of the Week, while Maya Dutta earned MW Freshman of the week honors.

This marks the first time since 2021 Boise State has earned three weekly awards in a season, and is the first time in program history the team has swept both honors in the same week.

🔼 “Jett” Setter. Boise State redshirt-senior Jett Middleton has been named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Jan. 20-26. This is his first MW Player of the Week accolade in his career. 

Middleton led the Broncos to a road split last week at the ITA Kickoff Weekend Tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia. Boise State came up just short of an upset of No. 5 Virginia 4-2, then regrouped to defeat VCU 4-0 on the second day. He played at No. 1 singles and doubles, going 1-0 at both positions.

🔼 Running Into the Weekend Like… The Boise State Track & Field team is ready for a split weekend. The Stan Scott Invitational will be held at the Sports Performance Indoor Center, and will be streamed on ESPN+ on Friday and Saturday.

The UW Invitational, hosted at Dempsey Indoor, will feature Boise State’s distance runners in a two-day competition.

Boise State competed at the UW Invitational in 2024, where Kaiya Robertson, Tom Graham-Marr and Ollie Newman each earned top 10 finishes in their respective events.
