🔼 Island Time. Following three consecutive sold-out home games No. 17 Boise State will make its longest-planned trip of the year with a Saturday night visit to Hawai’i airing live on CBS Sports Network. The Broncos head to the islands to face Hawai’i and its run-and-shoot offense with a gunslinger of its own. Maddux Madsen currently has the best QB pass efficiency rating of any Mountain West QB at 150.15 while Ashton Jeanty became just the eighth player to reach 1,000 rushing yards in only five games.
🔼 Got The Job Done. It was not always pretty, but Boise State volleyball did what it needed to do to win in five sets at league-leading Colorado State on Thursday night. It is only the second road win for the Blue and Orange. Paige Bartsch led the Broncos with a team-high 20 kills while hitting .319 percent. She also recorded her fifth double-double of the season, adding 10 digs to her kill total with three blocks and a team-best 21.5 points. The win improved Boise State to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in MW play.
🗣️ "The fifth set was great, especially after we struggled in the third and fourth. The team regrouped and came back when they needed to and got the win on the road against a very good team." - Shawn Garus, head coach
🔼 Feature Back. Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty was tabbed to the Reese's Senior Bowl Midseason All-America team, the organization announced this week. The running back leads the FBS in rushing yards (1,031), rushing touchdowns (16), yards per rush (10.9), rushing yards per game (206.2), yards after contact (755) and missed tackles forced (50). The HEI2MAN candidate has helped the Broncos to a 4-1 record and the No. 17 ranking in the AP Poll.
🔼 Final Seconds. Boise State women's soccer drew against conference leader Colorado State 1-1 Thursday night with the help of Jayla Land's match-tying goal in the closing seconds. Land tied the match for the Broncos with one second left on the clock after taking a pass from Jillian Anderson, booting it to the top left corner of the goal. Genevieve Crenshaw recorded seven saves for Boise State despite allowing one goal.
🔼 Conference Foes. With less than a month until the first tipoff of the season, Boise State women's basketball announced its Mountain West schedule. The Broncos will play an 18-game conference schedule, competing in home-and-home games against all Mountain West opponents except for San Diego State and San Jose State. The Blue and Orange will open conference play on the road at San Diego State on Dec. 29. The team's first MW home game will be Jan. 1 against Air Force.
