🔷 ONE TWO BIG THINGS

Following Boise State football’s historic performance on Saturday, two student-athletes were awarded by the Mountain West for their play.

Punter James Ferguson-Reynolds was honored as the MW Special Teams Player of the Week. He averaged 53.7 yards per punt including a booming 71-yard kick, the longest this season in the MW. To date, Ferguson-Reynolds leads all of college football in punting.

Quarterback Maddux Madsen was named the MW Freshman of the Week after his impressive performance that included 155 passing yards, 39 yards rushing and two touchdowns - one through the air and another on the ground. The freshman continues to show the team the type of impact he can have on a game.

🔼 Great First Impression. Following a weekend sweep for Boise State volleyball, Bella McGirr was awarded the MW Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. McGirr earned her first two starts of the season at the libero position, and as a result, finished the home sweep averaging 15.5 digs per match with just one error.

She, and the rest of the Bronco volleyball team, will be back in action tonight at Bronco Gym to face off against Utah State.

🔼 Hot Starts. Both the Broncos men’s and women’s golf teams jumped out to hot starts in round one.

The women’s team opened the Golf Iconic Classic with the third-lowest team score in program history after firing off a 284 to finish in third for the day. Leia Chung came away as the low finisher with a 4-under par, bogey-free round. Franca Polla also finished the day under par.

The men’s team opened with a second place team finish after round one thanks in part to Will O’Connor’s opening 2-under par round. He sits in a tie for sixth place, and the team as a whole currently sits 2-over par for the tournament.

🔼 Race Week. Bronco cross country is nearing its last meet of the season as the team prepares to travel to compete in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. This week will be the seventh time both the men’s and women’s teams will compete at the event.
