🔷 ONE BIG THING
For the first time this season, two Broncos were named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mention list. The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in DI football who was born in Texas or graduated from a Texas high school and exhibits characteristics such as integrity, teamwork and tenacity.
Wide receiver Eric McAlister and quarterback Taylen Green were named to the list following their performances in Saturday’s comeback win against San Jose State. McAlister racked up 170 receiving yards on five catches including his career-long 83-yard touchdown reception while Green accumulated 115 yards of total offense in the game including three scores en route to the comeback win.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Blue, Orange and Greens. Both Boise State golf programs were in action with the men’s team wrapping up at the Oregon State Invitational while the women’s team completed round two of the NMSU Golf Iconic Classic.
The Bronco men’s golf team ended the tournament with a solid seventh place finish as Ryan Meyer posted his best finish in the Blue and Orange. He finished inside the top 20 after all was said and done with a 219 three-day total score.
The women’s team concluded its second round of play in a tie for seventh with Leia Chung leading all Broncos at 6-under par for the tournament and in a tie for third place.
🔼 Top Tier. Bronco soccer has a pair of stars on the pitch with both Kenzie MacMillan and Carly Cross putting up big numbers. Check out where they stand in the MW Individual Rankings and just how dominant they have been this season.
🔼 Red, White and Blue. Former Boise State track and field star Marisa Howard has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2023 Pan American Games. Howard will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Games for the second time in her career, and qualified for this year’s competition with her second-fastest finish all-time.
🔼 Hard Fought. Boise State volleyball fought in a tough battle against Utah State but ultimately fell in four sets. Paige Bartsch and Noelani Helm each came away from the match with double-doubles while Chey Day recorded her first double-digit kill game of her career.
Next up, the Broncos will look to bounce back against San Jose State on Thursday night in San Jose, Calif.
🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA
Finding the Endzone. Boise State football has a prolific scorer in running back Ashton Jeanty, but he isn’t the only Bronco who has a knack for finding the endzone.
Our question today—do you know who is tied with Ashton Jeanty for most receiving touchdowns so far this season?
