🔷 ONE BIG THING

Despite another stellar performance from running back Ashton Jeanty, Boise State fell just short of a comeback in Memphis, falling in a 35-32 loss.

Jeanty scored four times on the game, twice through the air and twice on the ground. Wide receiver Eric McAlister lead all wideouts with five receptions for 98 yards. Quarterback Maddux Madsen stepped in and went 11 for 14 with 175 passing yards and two touchdowns. He helped the Broncos cut the lead to three points with a late fourth quarter touchdown, but was unable to send the game to overtime.

Next up, the Broncos head into the meat of its MW schedule against San Jose State on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. MT in front of the Blue and Orange faithful.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Team Goals. Boise State soccer took care of business and exploded on offense with four goals en route to a 4-1 victory over Colorado State to remain undefeated in MW play.

Four different Broncos netted goals on the afternoon with Sophie Drown and Cindy Conner scoring in the first half with Carly Cross and Olivia Collins finishing the job with two more in the second half. When all was said and done, Boise State put up more shots and had more saves than the Rams. Next up, the Broncos will square off against San Diego State on Thursday night.

🔼 Tennis Time. Both Boise State men’s and women’s tennis teams picked up wins at multiple stages of their respective tournaments for a successful weekend.

The men’s team concluded four days at the ITA Mountain Regional where Jip van Assendelft went 3-1 in singles play, reaching the tournament’s quarterfinal round. Caden Moortgat and Jett Middleton faced off against each other in the consolation finals where Middleton came out on top for the title.

The women’s team sent doubles team Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan to the ITA All-American Championships where the duo played well and made a quarterfinals appearance.

🔼 On To The Next. After taking the first set against New Mexico, the Broncos fell in a close match on Saturday afternoon. Paige Bartsch continued to shine with her team-high 22 kills with Breanna Mitchell recording a team-high 24 digs from the libero position.

The Broncos will look to regain momentum with a match against Fresno State on Oct. 5 at home in the Bronco Gym.
