Good Morning Bronco Nation 10/26: It's About the Journey

Today, postseason predictions for one program and a touching story about a former Bronco

Good morning! Bronco soccer will close out the regular season against Utah State tonight, and the Broncos are guaranteed to finish the regular season no lower than third place in the Mountain West.

If Boise State defeats Utah State and San Diego State beats New Mexico, the Broncos will secure a bye and a share at the regular-season title; however, if Boise State and Utah State tie while San Diego State wins, the Broncos will finish second in the conference and secure a bye.

🔷 ONE BIG THING

Bronco soccer’s goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw earned this week’s Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week after her performances in Boise State’s two wins last weekend. She also secured her 19th clean sheet of her career, becoming the all-time leader in shutouts.

Crenshaw has helped the Broncos to an 8-1-1 record in MW play and was named the MW Defensive Player of the Week for a second time this season. She and the rest of the Broncos will suit up for the last regular season matchup of the year against Utah State tonight at the Boas Soccer Complex to clinch at least a share of the regular season title.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 It’s About the Journey. Earlier this year, former Boise State football defensive lineman Scott Matlock was drafted to the NFL, but it wasn’t without overcoming tragedy and an immense amount of determination. Learn more about his story of how his dream came true in this piece from Boise State Magazine.

🔼 Postseason Predictions. As Boise State cross country gears up to host the Mountain West Championships in Eagle, Idaho, the conference released a pre-championship poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Both the men’s and women’s teams were projected to finish in second place in the conference. Each team earned one first place vote heading into the postseason.

🔼 Hitting the Road. Boise State volleyball is back at it this weekend with a pair of matchups on the road. Entering this week, the Broncos have won nine of the last 12 matches and currently sit in third place in the MW volleyball standings.

First, the Broncos will take on Wyoming on Thursday evening. Then on Saturday, the team will head to Fort Collins, Colo., to face off against Colorado State - a matchup that has historically favored the Broncos.
