🔷 ONE BIG THING

Another honor for Nampa’s own and Boise State football running back Tyler Crowe, who has been selected as a nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy, an award that is given to the most outstanding FBS player who began their career as a walk-on.

Crown earned a spot as a walk-on in 2019 as a linebacker, but switched to the running back position as a redshirt freshman. After a couple of seasons, Crowe earned a scholarship and has seen action in six games this season. In his career, Crowe has earned three Academic All-Mountain West selections as well as three Mountain West Scholar-Athlete awards.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Dynamic Duo. Two former Boise State soccer standouts were named to the exclusive Mountain West 25th Season Soccer Team. Brooke Heidemann and Raimee Sherle, products of Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho, were named to the team for their efforts on the pitch over the years.

Heidemann played for the Broncos from 2012-15 and ranks fourth all-time in goals (23) and points (57). While with Boise State, she earned the 2012 Mountain West Freshman of the Year honor and was named to the All-Mountain West First Team in each of her four years.

Sherle achieved quite a list of accomplishments in her time at Boise State. She was a two-time MW Offensive Player of the Year, four-time All-Mountain West First Team honoree, MW Championship MVP in 2019 and set over 30 school records including her 61 career goals scored.

🔼 That Makes Three. Following his 160-yard performance against Wyoming, wide receiver Eric McAlister was named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mentions list for the third time this season. The award honors top offensive players who exhibit integrity, drive and tenacity, and in addition, are from Texas or have played Texas football at the high school, JUCO or four-year university level.

🔼 Guy’s Guy. For the third time this season, punter James Ferguson-Reynolds was selected as one of Ray’s 8 by the Ray Guy Award. In Saturday’s performance, Reynolds averaged 52 yards per punt with all three of his punts downed inside the 10-yard line. His average for the game marked the sixth time this season he has averaged 50 or more yards per punt.

🗳️ Vote for Ferguson-Reynolds as the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week

🔼 Oh Captain My Captain. The Junior President’s Cup is many months away, but Bronco alum Graham DeLaet has already earned captain status for the 2024 tournament. DeLaet will team up with former PGA Pro Charley Hoffman to help lead the U.S. to a Jr. President’s Cup title next September.

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA

Soccer Stats. Forward Raimee Sherle is certainly known as one of the best Bronco soccer players to come through the university, holding over 30 school records on top of her recent selection to the MW 25th Season Soccer Team. However, Sherle doesn’t hold all the records.

Our question today — do you know which Bronco holds the second-most career records in Boise State soccer history?
