🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State football’s offense exploded in the first half with 32 points behind the performances of quarterback Maddux Madsen and running back George Holani, resulting in a convincing 42-14 victory on The Blue.

Madsen finished with 202 yards through the air and two touchdowns while Holani added 95 yards on the ground and his own pair of scores in the offense’s big night. The defense also played a solid game as Seyi Oladipo recorded seven total tackles, three of which were for loss, and Ahmed Hassanein had two sacks.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Dominating Defense. Facing one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, Bronco men’s basketball’s defense stepped up and held San Francisco to under 60 points. Tyson Degenhart showed out and led Boise State with 17 points, and Max Rice and Chibuzo Abgo each added 15 points.

The defensive especially locked down, allowing just two points in the final two minutes en route to the 63-58 victory. Next up, the Broncos will hit the road for a 10 days through the Southeast, and will face Clemson on Nov. 19.

🔼 Nationals Bound. After placing 11th at the NCAA West Regionals and finishing with a time of 29:25.1 in the 10K, Joe Hudson qualified for the 2023 Division I Men's Cross Country Championships. Hudson is an All-Mountain West and All-West Region selection, being one of two Broncos this season to earn the honors.

🔼 Senior Day. Bronco Nation supported Boise State volleyball all season long, breaking records in the process, this theme remained consistent during Saturday’s match on Senior Day against San Jose State. The Broncos swept the match (25-19, 25-22, 25-17) trailing only twice in the first two sets and closing out the third match after pulling away in the final points.

🗣️ “We were really emotional dealing with senior festivities, and the seniors wanted it to be perfect. I'm glad that the girls managed that well and played a solid, consistent match, start to finish." - head coach, Shawn Garus

🔼 Award for the Boot. After leading the country in punting average for most of the season, punter James Ferguson-Reynolds has been named as one of 10 Ray Guy Award semifinalists. The award is given to the nation’s best punter. This season, Ferguson-Reynolds has had 50% of his punts travel farther than 50 yards in only his second year of playing American football.

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA

Scoring Streak. The Bronco’s offense put up some serious points in Saturday’s matchup against New Mexico, scoring 32 in the first half and 42 in total.

📱 FROM THE AD’S DESK

In a letter to Bronco Athletic Association members and Boise State football season ticket holders, Jeramiah Dickey addressed the decision to make a change. In part, "it is my responsibility to assess the direction of our program. I must make decisions that give Boise State the best opportunity to align results with our high expectations."
