🔼 Big Win. In the team's final nonconference game of the season, Boise State defeated Texas Southern 81-52, on Tuesday night in front of their home crowd. Four players scored in double figures, including Tyson Degenhart and O'Mar Stanley who tallied double-doubles. Degenhart totaled a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds while Stanley posted 11 points and 10 boards.
🗣️ "I thought we had a great defensive effort, great effort on the glass, and then did some good offensive things, especially in the second half.” - Leon Rice, head coach
🔼 Off The Court Success. The College Sports Communicators released its 2024 Volleyball Academic All-District Teams, and among those honored were three Broncos: Paige Bartsch, Kiersten Van Kirk and Elle Cotton. For Bartsch, it is the third straight year that she has been recognized by the organization. It is the first CSC accolade for both Van Kirk and Cotton.
🔼 Closing Out Nonconference. Boise State women’s basketball will round out its nonconference schedule at the Husky Classic this week in Seattle, Wash. The Broncos will start the event with a matchup against Furman today at 1 p.m. before facing off against North Dakota State on Thursday. The Blue and Orange are looking to reach 10 wins on the season in Seattle, which would mark the first time the program has garnered 10 nonconference wins since 2016-17.
🔼 NFL Broncos. A dozen former Broncos will represent Boise State in Week 16 of the NFL season. Postseason inclusion is on the line for multiple teams. The Denver Broncos (JL Skinner), Los Angeles Chargers (Scott Matlock) and Washington Commanders (John Bates, Jeremy McNichols) can clinch a playoff spot this week. The Buffalo Bills (Khalil Shakir) and Minnesota Vikings (Brett Rypien) have already clinched a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
🔼 Meeting The Press. With Boise State football on a bye and earning some much-deserved rest, check out yesterday’s press conference as head coach Spencer Danielson and the rest of the coaching staff get the team ready for the New Year’s Eve matchup at the Fiesta Bowl.
