🔷 ONE BIG THING

Junior forward O’Mar Stanley helped power the Broncos past San Jose State 78-69 with a 30-point, 11-rebound game to open up Mountain West play with a win. Stanley became the third Bronco in the Leon Rice era to have a 30-10 game.

Boise State hosts Colorado State on Tuesday at ExtraMile Arena. The Rams are currently ranked No. 13/14 in the AP and Coaches' poll, respectively. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. MT with the game being televised on KTVB in Boise, KTVD in Denver, and available for streaming on the Mountain West Network.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Success From Downtown. Boise State battled it out in a tough road environment against New Mexico and came out on top for a 64-56 victory. The result marked the first win for the Broncos in Moutain West play this season and the first win in New Mexico since 2020.

Sophomore guard Dani Bayes finished with a career-high 21 points thanks to five made field goals from beyond the arc. Maya Hansen joined Bayes in the double digits with 13 points and added a career-high of her own with eight assists. The shooting performance from Boise State marked the sixth time this season the squad has hit 10 or more 3-pointers in a game.

Next up, the Broncos will have a week to prepare before welcoming San Diego State to The X on Jan. 13.

🔼 First Meet Down. In Boise State gymnastics’ first action of the season, the team came up just short, 194.350-197.300, against No. 4 Utah.

🗣️ "I'm extremely proud of the way our team handled themselves in our first meet of the 2024 season. We're excited to get back home to Boise so we can do some work before heading back to Utah next week for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad." - head coach Tina Bird

Freshman Victoria Smirnov and Mahleea Werline made their collegiate debuts on the bars while seniors Courtney Blackson and Emily Lopez helped the Broncos to top scores. Blackson finished with team-highs on vault (9.825) and floor (9.875), and Lopez finished with the team’s top score on bars (9.875).

🔼 Dalmas Returns. Boise State’s reliable leg and holder of many Boise State records will be making his return for the 2024 season. Kicker Jonah Dalmas is setting his sights on the Mountain West and NCAA record books following his return to the Broncos next season.

🤔 BLUE TURF TRIVIA

Big Dogs. Boise State men’s basketball’s O’Mar Stanley had a game to remember after recording 30 points and 11 rebounds. We mentioned that only two other players have finished with a stat line like that under Leon Rice — can you name the other two Broncos to have had 30-10 performances?
