🏐 BVB selected as a Southland Conference preseason co-favorite
🔷 And much, much more!
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 A Bump in the Poll. Boise State beach volleyball was selected as a Southland Conference preseason co-favorite alongside Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The two teams garnered 119 votes each in the poll, which consisted of votes from head coaches and sports information directors from all nine schools.
In addition to the preseason rankings, four Broncos were named SLC Preseason Players to Watch. Allyson Alden, Ava Anderson, Emilia Guerra-Acuña and Addison Wolden were all selected as honorees.

🔼 Linking Up in California. The Boise State women’s golf team is set to continue the 2024-25 campaign in Palm Desert, Calif., playing at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic, Feb. 15-17. Each day will feature a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. MT.
In their last time on the links, the Broncos won the Mountain Classic Match Play title, defeating Portland State, Seattle and Northern Arizona. Teal Matsueda and Brooke Patterson both finished 3-0-0, with Jillian Hui and Hannah Lim adding two wins apiece.

🔼 Mountain West Momentum. The Boise State women’s tennis team hosts its final home match of February against Eastern Washington this morning at 11 a.m. MT before hitting the road to visit Washington State on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. MT. Boise State has won 16 straight against Eastern Washington and leads the all-time series 18-4, having last lost to the Eagles in 1985.
In three weeks of action, Maya Dutta has claimed two Mountain West Freshman of the Week awards, while Zdena Safarova has earned MW Player of the Week honors once. This marks the first time since 2021 Boise State has earned three weekly awards in a season.
Boise State improved to 5-2 with an 8-0 run-rule win over North Dakota State.

🔼 A High Note. Brooklyn Thompson pitched a two-hit shutout against North Dakota State and Boise State split two games during its first day of the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.

🔼 Let’s Play Two. Boise State men’s tennis is headed to Wichita, Kansas, for a pair of matches this week. The team faces the Wichita State Shockers today at noon MT, followed by an encounter with the Denver Pioneers at 9 a.m. MT on Saturday.
The Broncos enter the weekend on a four-match win streak, including a 4-3 victory last Sunday in which they upset the 22nd-ranked Michigan State Spartans. Carson Baker was named this week’s Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week following his win over No. 43 Matt Forbes.
🎾 : SCOUTING REPORTS

🔼 Leaving a Legacy. Two-star prospect. No Power 4 offers. Only four offers from Group of 5 or FCS schools. If this sounds familiar, it’s because countless high school football players who commit to Boise State share a similar story - even Hall of Fame inductee Ryan Clady.
Clady played at Eisenhower HS, located in Rialto, Calif. The Eagles went 3-7 his senior year, but Clady stood out at defensive tackle, earning Division I first team All-California Interscholastic Federation honors. This garnered looks from Cal, Stanford, UCLA and USC, but none of the local powerhouses offered. After receiving offers from Boise State, Idaho State, San Diego State and UTEP, Clady decided to trek to the Treasure Valley, choosing the Broncos.
Read this week’s B1: Feature: Leaving a Legacy for more on Clady’s transition out of his role as a defensive lineman, his memories from the historic Fiesta Bowl game, his time in the NFL and Boise’s lasting impact.

🔼 Toe-to-Toe OT Thriller. Boise State women's basketball dropped a heartbreaking overtime thriller to New Mexico, 88-83, on Thursday evening in The Pit.
Trailing 85-81 with under a minute remaining in the additional period, Dani Bayes converted a difficult right-handed scoop layup to cut the lead to two with 34.7 seconds on the clock. On the ensuing Lobo (14-12, 7-6 MW) possession, Viane Cumber drilled a deep 3-pointer with six seconds left to claim the victory.
