Good Morning, Bronco Nation! As the Boise State MBB team goes for four consecutive wins tonight (more on that below), forward Tyson Degenhart has been named to the 2025 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Midseason Top 10 List.

Among past winners, eight have spent time in the NBA. Seven of the eight were drafted, including five who were selected with a top 10 pick (Deandre Ayton (2018) and Zion Williamson (2019) were the No. 1 overall picks in their respective drafts).

In his senior campaign, Degenhart has started all 23 games for Boise State, posting averages of 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 33.0 minutes of game action.

🔼 B1: Feature: “For Grandpa”. It is rare for someone to find success without the support of others. For Boise State senior outfielder Mykenzie “Mac” Hanna, one of her biggest supporters was her grandpa, Brian Hanna, Sr.

Mykenzie and her father lived with her grandpa until she was 4-years-old, about the time she started playing softball. The outfielder remained close to her grandpa until his death in 2020 from stage 4 lung cancer, but his memory remains. She honors him with the words “FOR GRANDPA” on her softball glove.

Recruited by former Bronco head coach Maggie Huffaker, Hanna chose Boise State over East Carolina after visiting both schools.

🔼 GPA → Great Performance All-Around. Boise State had 90 student-athletes named to the Fall 2024 Academic All-Mountain West team, the conference announced today.

Football led the way with 41 selections, followed by women's soccer with 19. Volleyball (12), Men's cross country (9) and women's cross country (9) rounded out the honorees for the Broncos. Four student-athletes achieved a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 4.0.

🔼 Treasure Valley Tennis. The Boise State women’s tennis team hosts a doubleheader today against Linfield at 11 a.m. MT, followed by College of Idaho at 5 p.m. MT. Both matches will be held at Boas Indoor Tennis Center .

Boise State has started 4-0 for the first time since the 2013-14 season. The Broncos have defeated all four of their opponents 7-0, marking just the second time in program history they’ve started the season 4-0 with four-straight sweeps.

🔼 Big Ten, Big Match. The Broncos will close a three-match homestand this Sunday when they host No. 22 Michigan State at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center; first serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. The Spartans are the first of two Big Ten teams visiting Boise in the next three weeks, with Indiana coming on Feb. 19. The match will feature several nationally ranked singles players, including Boise State’s Jett Middleton, who is ranked No. 115.

Boise State enters the match on a three-match win streak, all by sweeps. Following a season-opening loss at No. 5 Virginia, the Blue and Orange responded with 4-0 victories over VCU and Idaho State and a 7-0 win versus Eastern Washington.

🔼 Four On the Floor. Seeking its fourth consecutive victory, Boise State (16-7) will play San Jose State (12-12) for the second and final time in the regular season on Friday night. Airing live on FS1, tip off at ExtraMile Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.

The Broncos have won 91.1 percent of their games against San Jose State, signifying the highest winning percentage against a single opponent in program history (min. 25 games played). The Spartans are the only team Boise State has beaten at least 20 times at home without a defeat.
