🔷 ONE BIG THING

After earning both conference and national awards, pitcher Taylor Caudill was named the Boise State Ford Student-Athlete of the Week. Caudill won each of her four appearances during Bronco softball’s opening weekend and retired 85% of the batters she faced. She also became the second pitcher in Bronco history to reach 400 career strikeouts after tallying 23 across four games.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Make It Four. Boise State women’s basketball secured its fourth straight win after defeating Utah State on the road 73-57. The win tied the longest win streak of the season. Natalie Pasco hit five 3-pointers in the contest, finishing with a team-high 15 points. Dani Bayes contributed 14 points off the bench, while Mya Hansen added 11 points and matched her career-high with seven rebounds. The Broncos now sit at the same win total the team had all of last season, improving to 17-8 on the season.

🔼 Closing Out The Opener. Boise State women's golf finished fourth in Mountain Classic Match Play, opening the spring season with a win over Portland State before falling to St. Thomas and Wyoming. Teal Matsueda had a pair of wins for the Broncos, as did Annie Buffolino and Hannah Lim, who competed in the individual bracket. The team will return to the tee box today, where the Broncos will compete in a tri-match in Palm Springs to face off against Long Beach State and UC Riverside.

🔼 Taking Notice. Boise State track and field has two event squads ranked among the top teams in the nation. The men’s 5K team came in at No. 12 in the USTFCCCA National Rankings while the women’s 5K team ranked a spot higher at No. 11. Both squads rank higher than any other event team in the Mountain West.

🔼 Making Connections. Recently, BroncoLife helped host an event called CONNECT to provide a stage for student-athletes to gain insight from local business professionals, explore different career paths, and expand their network. In its fifth year, CONNECT is BroncoLife's largest professional development event. BroncoLife provides programming that encourages and empowers student-athletes to act and behave by their values, be positive influences in their community, and discover their full potential as leaders in both their college careers and lives after Boise State. The impact seen from the event has helped student-athletes such as gymnast Elaina McGovern, basketball’s Tyson Degenhart, and softball’s Brook Thompson.
