🔷 ONE BIG THING

The Broncos led from the opening bucket as Boise State men’s basketball secured the 90-66 win over Fresno State on Saturday at The X. The win places the Broncos half a game back of first place in the Mountain West standings at 8-4 behind Utah State and San Diego State. Nine Broncos scored in the game, led by 66 points from the quartet of Tyson Degenhart, O’Mar StanleyMax Rice and Chibuzo Agbo with Degenhart leading the way with 24 points in the game. Bronco Nation packed The X as the attendance of 11,595 places Boise State on pace to hit Project 170’s goal of 170,000 fans for the season.

🗣️ "The break was beneficial, but it felt weird when we went from two days or three days of play to all of a sudden a week off, it felt like a month. To our guys' credit, we had two great practices, so I wasn't surprised that they performed the way that they did (tonight)." - head coach Leon Rice

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Sunday Success. On Sunday at the Maverick Invitational, Boise State knocked off Michigan State 4-3 and Kansas City 6-2. Against the Spartans, the Broncos (7-2) posted their fifth come-from-behind win of the season and their third over a Power 5 school. Across the two games, Leah McAnally went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI while Sydney Groves and Mykenzie Hanna each drove home runs thanks to a pair of home runs. Continuing her hot start, Sophia Knight has now hit safely in each of her first nine collegiate games. Boise State will wrap up in the Lone Star State today after taking on the hosts, UT Arlington, at 3 p.m.

🔼 Top of the Trio. Boise State gymnastics scored a season-high 196.650 to win a tri-meet on Friday night against Southern Utah and Sacramento State. The Broncos earned three event victories thanks to Courtney Blackson (floor), Emily Lopez (bars) and Adriana Popp (beam) who all scored 9.950 in their respective events. Both Blackson and Popp tied career-highs in their events while Lopez finished with a season-best score.

🗣️ "What a great team effort tonight, with such big success, fun and room to continue improving. Emily Lopez was our superstar tonight with a 9.900 or higher on her three events! She is such a calm, consistent performer and we are so proud of her." - head coach Tina Bird

🔼 Another Won. After losing to Denver on Friday, Boise State men's tennis bounced back and earned a neutral site victory by defeating the LMU Lions 4-0 in Denver, Colo. The win improved the Broncos to 6-4 on the season. Sam Sippel and Jip Van Assendelft recorded their 12th singles wins of the season in the sweep of LMU, and the doubles team of Jan Lucca Marquardt and Caden Moortgat won their team-high 11th match. Next week, the Broncos will travel to the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic to compete against two ranked teams.

🔼 OT Thriller. On the road, Boise State women’s basketball took Nevada to overtime but was only to fall short, 68-65. Elodie Lalotte scored a season-high 19 points in the loss, while Natalie Pasco added 16 for the Broncos. Mya Hansen netted 12 points on 2-4 from beyond the arc for the Blue and Orange. Boise State will head back home to host New Mexico on Wednesday at The X for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff.
