🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State men’s basketball recorded its 900th program win with an all-around offensive effort in the 92-72 victory over Wyoming. The Broncos (19-8, 10-4 MW) moved into a tie for first in the conference with four games remaining in the regular season. The offense was humming to the tune of 1.394 points per possession with 15 assists made on 34 field goals. Through the last five games, the Broncos have put up 80+ points, all of which have been wins. Tyson Degenhart led all scorers with 22 points as Boise State shot 54% from the field, and O'Mar Stanley contributed another 19 points.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Claws Out. Boise State softball capped off a great showing in Baton Rouge at the Tiger Classic with a Mykenzie Hanna two-run walk-off home run to finish the weekend with a 3-2 record with two wins over Austin Peay, and one win over Houston. Hanna showed out, and in the span of five games, went 6-for-13 at the plate with four home runs and nine RBI. Saturday’s game against Houston showed a burst of offensive support as the Broncos settled the game in five innings with a 9-1 win. Boise State will return to the diamond on Thursday to take on nationally-ranked Stanford at 6:30 p.m.

🔼 Fab Five Finishes. Over at the 2023-24 Mountain West Indoor Championships, Boise State track and field earned five medals to conclude the season. The Broncos started the three-day meet strong with a runner-up finish from Julia Kiesler in the women's 5,000m with a time of 16:55.07. The men's distance medley relay team, composed of Trevor Cogley, Tom Graham-Marr, Anass Mghari and Ollie Newman took home a podium finish, finishing the relay in third in 10:09.50. Day three started with another podium finish, this one coming from Kaiya Robertson as she placed third in the women's mile with a time of 4:48.16. Ollie Newman followed in the next race with a silver-medal finish in the men's mile in 4:12.26. Yasmin Marghini continued the distance success, earning a bronze medal finish in the women's 3,000m in 9:35.97.

🔼 Win Secured. Boise State women’s basketball’s leading scorer, Natalie Pasco, put up 11 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter to stave off a comeback and earn the Broncos the 70-65 win over Fresno State. The victory improved Boise State’s record to 19-9 on the season and 10-5 in conference play. Off the bench, Tatum Thompson netted 11 points, and Mya Hansen scored 10 points while grabbing five rebounds. Boise State is now an impressive 8-3 in games decided by single digits and is 13-3 on the season when three or more players reach double figures.

🔼 High Score. Boise State gymnastics recorded a score of 197.025, their highest overall score of the season, to defeat Mountain West rival Utah State, along with nonconference opponents No. 29 Iowa State and Texas Woman's. The score also cracked the top ten in school history, with 197.025 setting a tie for ninth in program history. For the second-straight meet, the senior trio of Courtney Blackson, Emily Lopez and Adriana Popp earned event victories to lead the Broncos. Blackson and Lopez shared the bars title and Popp won on beam. With the win, the Broncos now sit at 11-3 on the season and 3-0 in MW competition.

🔼 Strong Start. Boise State beach volleyball opened the 2024 season finishing 4-2 on its opening weekend. The Broncos went 3-1 at the Cactus Classic before splitting its matches at the Grand Canyon Tournament. Throughout the weekend, Boise State maintained undefeated records against Cal State Bakersfield (3-0), Colorado Mesa (6-0) and San Francisco (5-0.)

🔼 Round One. Boise State men’s golf teed it up for the first round at the Loyola Intercollegiate and finished the day at 4-over par as a team. Cole Rueck led the team with a 1-under par round of 71 after carding a team-high six birdies. The Broncos will kick off its second round today in 16th place among a tight group of teams, only nine shots off the fifth place.

After more than 40 seasons and approximately 1,275 games as public address announcer for the Boise State men's and women's basketball teams, KJ Mac will retire following the 2023-24 basketball season director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Friday. Both teams will recognize KJ with on-court presentations and special in-game tributes to thank and celebrate his tenure.
