🔷 ONE BIG THING

Senior Pauline Ernstberger has been named the Mountain West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the first time this season and the third time in her career. Ernstberger earned the honor following her performance against Washington with a victory in doubles play and a come-from-behind three-set win against the Huskies’ 2023 All-Pac-12 second-team honoree. The award marks the first time this season that a Bronco has been awarded the honor.

Ernstberger and the rest of Bronco women’s tennis will return to action with a home match against College of Idaho on Friday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Turning It Up. Behind a huge second half, Boise State women’s basketball pulled out the win at The X, 73-42, over San Jose State. After being tied at 29 at the half, the Broncos held its opponent to 13 points in the second half to record the second 30+ point win in conference play. Natalie Pasco led all scorers with 19 points, 16 of which came in the second half, and Tatum Thompson added 14 points off the bench.

🗣️ "This is a good win for us. They pressured us a lot throughout the game and we were able to settle in and handle it that second half. We struggled to score early on but we grinded it out. It was a great second-half effort for us." - Gordy Presnell

🔼 Bronco Honor. Senior Courtney Blackson has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week. Blackson scored a 9.950 on floor, finishing first and tying the program record. It was the 26th time a Boise State gymnast tallied a 9.950 and it helped the Blue and Orange to a 196.525-195.550 victory over No. 19 Iowa State. Her win on floor was her first of the season, giving her two wins during the 2024 campaign.

🔼 The Stampede. Coaches and administrators from Boise State Athletics will visit four Idaho communities this spring to celebrate the success of Bronco sports programs and student-athletes and meet head football coach Spencer Danielson. The inaugural Bronco Stampede will make stops in Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Nampa, Coeur D’Alene, and of course, Boise. Details about each visit will follow soon.

🔼  New On Campus. Boise State football welcomes both Syncere Brackett and Troy Grizzle to the Class of 2024. Brackett comes in as a linebacker from California while Grizzle, a defensive end and Meridian, Idaho native, is staying close to home to play for the Blue and Orange.
