🔷 ONE BIG THING

Bronco Nation got one step closer to setting their fall schedules as the 2024 Mountain West football schedule was released Thursday. The slate is highlighted by one of the best home schedules in Boise State history. Early season non-conference games at Georgia Southern (Aug. 31), at Oregon (Sept. 7) and against Portland State (Sept. 21) were previously announced, as were remaining opponents with home/away designations. Conference matchups at The Blue will feature Washington State, Utah State, San Diego State, Nevada and Oregon State.

🔼 Weekly Honors. Boise State men's tennis team sophomore, Jip van Assnedelft, has been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athlete of the Week. This is the second honor of the week for van Assendelft, who was also named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday. van Assendelft led the Broncos at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in by recording a pair of top-20 victories. The weekly winner and his teammates are off to Tempe, Ariz., this week for the Diablo College Tennis Invitational, where they will face six teams, all ranked in the ITA's Top 75.

🔼 Vamos A La Playa. Boise State beach volleyball travels to Southern California to compete at the Pepperdine Classic over the weekend. The Broncos will open against Pepperdine, followed by a rematch against No. 20 Arizona, and will end the two-day event with duals against San Francisco and Vanguard. The Blue and Orange started its season with a 4-2 showing at the Cactus Classic last weekend. Sierra Land went 4-2 on the top court during the opening weekend, breaking the program record for most career wins on court one. The senior has won 21 matches at the top position in her career, breaking the previous record of 19 wins set by Erin Martin (2020-22).

🔼 Back In The Gym. The Broncos will host No. 16 Minnesota, UC Davis, and No. 26 Washington on Friday for a Quad Meet at ExtraMile Arena. Boise State sits at 25th nationally on floor, and individually, Emily Lopez is tied for 8th nationally on bars. Junior Emma Loyim comes into the competition after being named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week, scoring a 9.925 on the apparatus.

🔼 Duo of Duels. Boise State women’s tennis is headed to Madison, Wis., to compete in two matches this weekend at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. This weekend, head coach Beck Roghaar will set a record for the most matches coached in Boise State women’s tennis history. He currently sits at 274 matches coached, chasing the No. 1 spot at 275 matches. Joana Baptista, Pauline Ernstberger and Bhakti Shah are all nearing 10 singles wins this season.
