🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State men’s basketball battled back in Friday’s 79-77 victory over San Diego State. It was only the fifth road win over a ranked opponent and the fourth win at Viejas Arena in program history.

The Broncos overcome a 10-point deficit in the second half to tie the game in regulation thanks to a Roddie Anderson III layup. In overtime, Max Rice hit a momentum-swinging shot from the logo and Cam Martin knocked down a pair of free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining to send the Broncos into the postseason with a win. Anderson III ended the game as the team’s leading scorer with 16 points and added six rebounds and three assists while five other Broncos finished in double figures.

Boise State travels to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Championship. The Broncos open play on Thursday, March 14, in the quarterfinals as the three seed.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Survive and Advance. Boise State women’s basketball won its first-round matchup against Utah State, 85-49, to advance to the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Championship. Four Broncos finished in the double-digits, but it was Abby Muse who led the team after recording the third triple-double in program history with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Elodie Lalotte also scored 12 points while Trista Hull and Natalie Pasco each added 10 points in the Broncos’ first-round win.

The team will now face off against Wyoming tonight at 7:30 p.m. for a chance to reach the semifinals of the Mountain West Championship.

🔼 Team Title. Boise State women’s golf stood atop the leaderboard after the final round at the Pizza Hut-Lady Thunderbird Invitational to claim the team title with a score of 894. Leia Chung finished her tournament as the co-champion after shooting even par across the three rounds for her first individual title in her collegiate career, and the first by a Bronco since 2019. Hannah Lim tied for ninth and Elli Gordon placed 17th for the Broncos, who earned their first team victory since the 2022 Hobble Creek Fall Classic.

🗣️ "This team has so much talent and potential and it's fun to see them put that into action. It was a group effort this week and to come away with the win is always exciting!" - Kailin Downs, head coach

🔼 Terrific Tandem. Former Boise State women's basketball’s Riley Lupfer and Brooke Pahukoa were named to the Mountain West 25th Season Women's Basketball Team as the conference celebrates its excellence on and off the field of play.

🏀 Riley Lupfer led the Broncos to two MW Regular Season Championships and four straight MW Tournament titles. She was named the 2018 MW Tournament MVP and is the program's leader with 350 career 3-pointers, holding the top two spots in single-season history with 122 long balls in 2017-18 and 105 in 2019-20.

🏀 Brooke Pahukoa led the Broncos to two MW Tournament Championships (2014-15, 2016-17) and was named MW Tournament MVP both times. Her 1,352 career points are ninth on the program's all-time scoring list, and she recorded the best free throw percentage in program history (83.0%).

🔼 Perfect Weekend. Bronco softball capped off its weekend with a pair of wins over Utah Valley and Weber State to finish with a 4-0 record. The Broncos now sit at 15-10 on the season as the team scored 51 runs in 23 offensive innings while batting .425 as a team over the four-game stretch. Jordyn Hutchins launched a grand slam in the final game and finished with six RBI in the contest. From the circle, Taylor Caudill came in to record the last out of the road trip to make a winner out of Jenna Bloom for her fourth of the season.

🔼 All-Conference Accolades. Sophomore Natalie Pasco was named to the All-Mountain West Team and senior Abby Muse was selected to the MW All-Defensive Team as part of the 2024 All-MW recognition. Pasco becomes the first Bronco to earn a spot on the All-MW team since Jayde Christopher and Riley Lupfer received first-team honors following the 2019-20 regular season. Muse was named to the MW All-Defensive Team for the second straight year, becoming the first Bronco to be selected to the team in back-to-back seasons.

🔼 Squad Win. Boise State gymnastics swept its Sunday quad meet, scoring 196.800 to defeat San Jose State, Illinois State and Yale. The Broncos posted a 49.475 on beam, the third-highest score in program history, with Anna Ferguson and Emily Lopez tying for first with scores of 9.950. Courtney Blackson won on bars, registering a career-best 9.950, and Alyssa Vulaj tied for the vault title, tallying a 9.875. The Blue and Orange are now 16-4 on the season and 4-0 against Mountain West competition.

🔼 Second At The Queen. Boise State beach volleyball ended with a runner-up finish at the Queen’s Cup after falling to Hawaii 3-2 in the championship match. During the team’s time on the islands, the Broncos recorded four wins over Pepperdine, Chaminade and Saint Mary’s. Marlayna Bullington and Sierra Land tied the program record for most wins on Court 1 with 12 wins on the season, tying Erin Martin and Yasmin Tan in 2022. The Blue and Orange will return to the mainland with an 11-6 record as the team heads to Louisiana for the Sugar Beach Bash.

🔼 Saturday Sweep. Boise State women's tennis completed a Saturday sweep over Lewis-Clark State at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center. The Broncos dominated on the day, winning both contests 7-0, going 6-0 in doubles and 12-0 in singles matches versus the Warriors. Joana Baptista, Ariadna Briones Ginesta, Pauline Ernstberger and Bhakti Shah all picked up their tenth singles win of the season. Boise State will begin Mountain West play next week as it hosts San Jose State and San Diego State.
