🔷 ONE BIG THING
Five Bronco gymnasts were named to an all-conference team ahead of Boise State’s conference championship this weekend. The Broncos accounted for 10 conference-team honors.
Courtney Blackson captured first-team accolades on both bars and floor and was named to the second team on vault. Emily Lopez earned first-team honors on bars and beam for the first time in her collegiate career. Adriana Popp was named to the first team on beam and to the second team on vault. Emma Loyim earned first-team status on beam and second-team on vault while Elaina McGovern collected second-team honors on floor.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Multis Day. Boise State track and field kicked off the Aztec Invitational with performances from multis athletes Gabbie Hasskamp and Emily Stefan. Competing in the heptathlon, Stefan finished second in her heat in the 100m hurdles, third in the high jump and sixth in the 200m while Hasskamp highlighted her day with a fourth-place finish in the 100m hurdles.
🔼 Road Tests. Boise State women’s tennis will hit the road this weekend as the team prepares for a pair of matches against Mountain West opponents. Friday, the Broncos will face off against Wyoming, followed by a dual with Colorado State, Sunday. The Broncos are 2-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2020-21 season and are one of three Mountain West teams that is undefeated.
🔼 Where Champions Are Made. After a successful regular season, Boise State gymnastics will travel to Logan, Utah, for the MW Championships, Saturday at 7 p.m. The Broncos will face off against Air Force, San Diego State and Utah State for a chance at a conference championship. Boise State went undefeated against conference rivals this season, finishing with a 5-0 record and posted its highest score of the season against Utah State with a 197.025. The Broncos are the only team in the Mountain West to record a score over 197.000.
🔼 Mountain West Action. This weekend, Boise State softball will open up conference play in Utah as the Broncos take on the Aggies of Utah State. Due to inclement weather, the Blue and Orange will play in a doubleheader on Friday afternoon followed by the series-closing game Saturday at 11 a.m. Boise State enters the Mountain West opener with a 20-11 record, and against Utah State, the Broncos hold a 17-game win streak dating back to the 2017 season.
