🔷 ONE BIG THING

He is a man on a mission. Boise State men's basketball assistant coach Mike Burns was named to the 100 Rising Stars: Men's Mid-Major Assistants by Silver Waves Media. Burns recently completed his eighth season with the Broncos since arriving ahead of the 2016-17 season and has compiled a 168-92 record in his tenure with the program. With Burns on staff, Boise State has posted four of the program's top five adjusted defensive efficiency marks in the KenPom era (since 1997) – including the top mark in program history in the 2021-22 season.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Best At Bat. Boise State softball’s standout freshman is pacing the nation. Sophia Knight, through 34 games this season, leads the country with 55 hits while also leading the team with a .470 batting average. Knight, and the rest of the 21-13 Broncos, will take on its second conference foe of the season against San Jose State in a three-game series at Huber Field at Dona Larsen Park starting Thursday, March 28.

🔼 Closing Statements. Boise State men’s golf closed out the Oregon Duck Invitational in 14th as Cole Rueck led the way with a top-25 finish. Rueck closed out his tournament with a 1-over-par round that saw him finish in a tie for 16th — the fifth time this season he has ended a tournament in the top 25. The Broncos will have two weeks off before returning to the course at the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate on April 8.

🔼 Next Level. Six Bronco football players participated in Boise State Pro Day which saw scouts from 17 NFL teams in attendance. The professional football hopefuls participated in testing which included the 40-yard dash, 225-pound bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, short shuttle, three-cone drill, and position drills.

🔼 League Play. Boise State continues its six-match homestand this week with a pair of big duals against Washington and Mountain West rival San Diego State in the league opener. The Blue and Orange enter the week ranked 63rd nationally with an overall record of 11-9. The Broncos are coming off a championship performance at last weekend’s Boise State Spring Fling tournament where the team went 3-0 with victories over Eastern Washington, Illinois State and Utah State.
