🔷 ONE BIG THING

Celebrating the seniors on its home court this weekend, Bronco beach volleyball finished 4-0 to complete the sweep at the Boise State Beach Classic. Boise State has now won 13 straight matches on its home sand, dating back to the 2020 season. The Broncos picked up a pair of wins against UC Davis and Oregon to improve to 23-8 on the season. Addison Wolden set the program record for most wins in a season, claiming her 24th victory in the final dual against Utah State.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Leaping Success. During the split weekend for Boise State track and field, Nyenuchi Okemgbo finished first in the women’s 400m to take home gold at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Okemgbo finished with a season-best time of 1:04.35 to win the event. Boise State's women's 4x400-meter relay team (Ciara Brown, Gabriella Chiara, Maggie Shirazi and Rebecca Vander Poel) notched a podium finish at the same meet, placing third with a time of 4:07.63.

🔼 Classic Comeback. Bronco men’s tennis finished off San Diego State in the final match of the day to take the 4-3 win in the Mountain West opener. Boise State claimed the doubles point, but after falling behind, Sam Sippel tied it up with a three-set win, followed by a James Van Herzeele clutch finish to secure the victory on court three.

🗣️ “James is leading us in wins and has shown a lot of growth. Sam is showing his consistency and is now figuring out how to get to the finish line. There are always nerves in the first matches of the conference, so it's great to be 1-0!" - Luke Shields, head coach

🔼 Series Winners. Boise State secured the series win over San Jose State with back-to-back run-rule wins, outscoring the Spartans 20-4. In game two of the series, pitcher Taylor Caudill tossed a complete game, scoreless two-hitter while Jordan Hutchins helped finish the game early with two home runs. The finale saw the Broncos fall in extra innings to move to 23-14 on the season.

🔼 Hello Win Column. Boise State women's tennis defeated Air Force 4-2, on its home court on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos secured an early lead over the Falcons after clinching the doubles point and finished strong with three singles victories for the team’s first win over Air Forces since the 2021 season.

🔼 In The Spotlight. Second-year graduate assistant, Maire Dickens, is working in the sports performance, health & wellness department as a performance nutrition GA at Boise State Athletics while pursuing a degree in the Master of Athletic Leadership (MAL) program. Her daily responsibilities as a GA include but are not limited to, assisting in oversight of the internship program, oversight of hydration testing and scheduling, and complying with the rules and regulations of the University, NCAA, the State of Idaho and any other governing body.
