🔷 ONE BIG THING

For the first time in her collegiate career, Boise State distance runner Hanna Ackermann was named the Mountain West Track and Field Women’s Freshman of the Week. Her honor follows her gold-medal finish in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Beach Invitational where she ran a personal best of 10:25.09, finishing 12 seconds ahead of the next closest finisher. Her time in the steeplechase establishes her as the ninth-fastest freshman in the nation and second-fastest freshman in the conference.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Going For Glory. Boise State gymnast Courtney Blackson will compete at the 2024 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships as an individual this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. Blackson qualified as an event specialist on bars following her 9.950 performance during the second round of the 2024 NCAA Regional Championship. Her second-place performance marked the highest finish by a Boise State gymnast.

Blackson was named to the All-Mountain West first team for bars and floor. In addition, she was named to the All-MW second team for vault. Throughout the 2024 season, Blackson collected seven MW Specialist of the Week awards, including four on floor, two on vault and one on bars.

🔼 First Day of Playoffs. After the first day at the Mountain West Championship, the Boise State women’s golf team sits in seventh place at 11-over par. Elli Gordon led the charge for the Broncos, shooting 1-over par to sit in a tie for 17th while Leia Chung and Hannah Lim each carded 3-over par rounds of 75 to sit in a tie for 25th.

🔼 Keep Grinding. As the team approaches the postseason, Boise State men’s tennis ranked as the No. 61 team in the country in the final ITA Rankings of the season. Along with the team ranking, duo Jip Van Assendelft and Sam Sippel came in as the No. 47 doubles team. The Broncos will face off against Air Force and New Mexico this weekend for the final matches before the Mountain West Championship.

🔼 Top of His Game. Although Boise State men’s golf fell in the Battle of Idaho, the Broncos’ Cole Rueck finished as the Co-Champion of the tournament. Through three rounds at the Hillcrest Country Club, Rueck finished at 6-over par with a low round of 72 during the second 18 on day one.
