🔷 ONE BIG THING

For the first time as a member of Boise State men’s tennis, Jan Lucca Marquardt was named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. Marquardt led Boise State to a pair of home victories over UNLV and Nevada by going a combined 3-0 last week. The 5th-year student-athlete from Germany earned the match-clinching point in his straight-set singles victory against the Rebels and went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 High Honor. Boise State junior forward Tyson Degenhart has received one of the nation's highest honors, by being named a CSC First Team Academic All-American. The selection made him only the second player in program history to receive the honor.

On the court, as one of the nation's elite efficient shooters, he averaged 16.7 points per game and moved to 13th on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,361 points. He finished the season nationally ranked in free throws, free throw attempts and free throw percentage. In the classroom, Degenhart holds a 3.95 GPA while pursuing a degree in business.

🔼 Through Two. After day two at the Mountain West Championship, Boise State women’s golf remains in seventh place after shooting 12-over par on Wednesday. Leia Chung climbed up the leaderboard with her 2-over par round of 74 to sit in a tie for 22nd, and Teal Matsueda is currently tied for 26th after also shooting 2-over par. The Broncos will wrap up the tournament today for the final round in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

🔼 For All The Marbles. Boise State closes the regular season with the Mountain West championship on the line as the Broncos travel to play at Air Force today and at New Mexico on Saturday. If the Broncos win both matches, the team would, at a minimum, clinch a share of the conference’s regular season title. The No. 61-ranked Broncos are coming off a pair of home victories last week defeating UNLV, 5-2, and Nevada, 4-0, and enter this week at 15-10 overall and 3-1 in MW play.

🔼 Way To Represent. Congratulations to former Boise State track and field student-athlete, Emma Bates, for her 12th place at the Boston Marathon. This is the second year in a row she has crossed the finish line as the fastest American in the iconic race.

🔼 These Are Our People. People are our greatest asset, and it’s no different at Boise State. Join us as we celebrate each of our Bronco Athletics staff members!
