🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State won the opener of a doubleheader 8-0 in five innings, but dropped the nightcap 4-3 in nine innings to earn a split against UNLV. In the opener, the Broncos exploded for seven runs in the first inning and cruised to the run-rule victory. Sydney Groves started the scoring with a three-run home run, her conference-leading 15th of the season. Mykenzie Hanna then made it back-to-back long balls, belting her 12th of the year for a 4-0 lead, and the Broncos never looked back.

🔼 Star Duo. Boise State beach volleyball’s Ava Anderson and Emilia Guerra-Acuña have been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athletes of the Week. Playing as the Broncos' No. 2 pair, Anderson and Guerra-Acuña finished 4-0 at the Boise State Beach Classic. They won two separate three-set thrillers over UC Davis, while also notching two straight-set victories over Oregon. The duo is currently on a 10-match winning streak as the team heads into the Boise State-Tri Dual on April 10.

🔼 First Round Recap. Boise State gymnastics was edged out by BYU in the first round of the NCAA Regional competition. Both teams scored 195.750, but the Cougars had a 0.25 advantage in the dropped scores to secure the tiebreaker and win the meet. Three Broncos placed tied for first with Emily Lopez finishing first on vault with a 9.900, matching the seventh-highest regional score in program history.

🗣️ "What an exciting meet! I'm very proud of this team for the fight and poise they showed. I'm excited to see what tomorrow brings for our individuals." - Tina Bird, head coach

🔼 Career Day. Through day one at the Cowgirl Classic, Boise State women’s golf shined after two rounds to finish the day in third place at 7-over-par. Leia Chung had a career-best day, scoring 8-under after 36 holes to sit in a tie for first. Teal Matsueda also had herself a career day after tying her career-low score of 69 in the opening round of the tournament.
