🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State softball concluded its season with a hard-fought 6-3 loss to San Diego State in the final of the Mountain West Softball Championship after knocking off the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The Broncos saw the tying run approach the plate in the seventh inning, but were unable to convert on the opportunity.

🗣️ "We fought all season and I am proud of our team for that. We put ourselves in a position to play for a championship after being down to our last strike (Thursday against Fresno State) and we got the tying run to the plate. You cannot ask for much more than that." - Justin Shults, head coach

Sydney Groves, Holly Farmer and Brooklyn Pettis were each named to the MW All-Tournament team as the trio combined for 17 hits including four home runs and two doubles.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 That’s A Wrap. Three Broncos on Boise State track and field team went home with medalist honors to conclude the 2024 Mountain West Outdoor Championships. Earning a total of six top-five finishes, Emily Jobes, Austen Apperson, and Ollie Newman each made the podium on the weekend.

Jobes was the first Bronco on the podium after a bronze medal performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Not long after, Apperson followed her up with a second-place finish in the same event. Rounding out the trio was Newman who finished in second in the 1500m race.

🔼 Run For Dunn. The 12th annual Run for Dunn event is set for Sunday, June 2, at Kristin Armstrong Municipal Park in Boise. Run for Dunn honors the life and legacy of Amy Dunn, a Boise State women's soccer student-athlete from 2000-2004. The event strives to spread melanoma awareness and educate on sun safety practices with an outdoor run along the Boise Greenbelt.

🔼 Tee Time. Representing Boise State men’s golf, Cole Rueck will begin play today at the NCAA Stanford Regional. Rueck will compete as an individual, marking the first time since 2017 and the ninth time overall that the Broncos will have sent a competitor to an NCAA Regional.

🔼 Southern Scores. A pair of Boise State women’s golfers competed at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship. Through two rounds, Annie Buffolino and Elli Gordon carded a 144 (+2) to finish in a tie for 52nd.

🔼 Taking Initiative. Five years ago, a group of Boise State students started BroncoBOLD, an initiative to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Now, heading into the next school year, BroncoBOLD’s High School Ambassador Program will be placed in 10 schools. Learn more about the initiative and how it has helped the lives of others.
