After a stellar start to her collegiate career, Boise State softball’s Sophia Knight was named a Freshman All-American by Softball America. The Huntington Beach, Calif., native was an NFCA DI Top 25 Freshman. She started all 59 games for Boise State and batted .405 to lead the Mountain West. Knight's 85 hits are the most by a freshman in the NCAA this season and rank fourth nationally.

🔼 Sand and Studies. Four Broncos were named to the SLC All-Academic team, matching Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for the most honorees in the conference. Highlighted by Sierra Land, who was named Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Year, Sharli O'Neil, Abbie Wolf and Elli Wolthuis, along with Land, were all recognized for both their academic and athletic performances.

🔼 Softball Smarts. A quartet of Boise State softball student-athletes were named academic all-district by the College Sports Communicators. Seniors Taylor Caudill and Jordyn Hutchins, junior Mykenzie Hanna and sophomore Hollie Farmer each received the honor.

🔼 New Duties. Boise State director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced that Chris Kutz will be joining the department as Associate Athletic Director, Strategic Communications & Brand Advancement. With more than 13 years of experience in communications, creative services and social media, Kutz has worked at all levels of NCAA DI with previous stops at Kansas State, University of San Diego, and his most recent appointment, Texas State.
