๐Ÿ”ท ONE BIG THING

Boise State head Coach Luke Shields has been named the Mountain West Coach of the Year, while five Broncos Sam Sippel, James Van Herzeele, Jan Lucca Marquardt, Caden Moortgat and Jett Middleton all earned MW Championship All-Tournament Team honors as voted on by the conference's head coaches. This is the first year that the MW has recognized an all-tournament team and the Broncos dominated the selections after winning the team title last week.

๐Ÿ“ˆ STOCK UP

๐Ÿ”ผ Closing Out Clutch. Boise State softball earned a 3-2 win in the last game of the regular season to sweep Colorado State and punch a ticket into the postseason. The victory was the 10th straight for the Broncos against the Rams in Fort Collins, Colo.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ "We found different ways to win this weekend. We are going to have to continue that in the MW Championship. We have a great opportunity in front of us.โ€ - Justin Shults, head coach

Boise State posted its 13th come-from-behind win of the season with help from Karizma Bergesen who went 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBI. Brook Thompson earned the victory with 2 1/3 innings of relief and Jenna Bloom logged the final three outs for her first save.

๐Ÿ”ผ What A Season. Boise State men's tennis came up short Friday afternoon in Tucson, falling 4-0 to ninth-ranked Arizona in the NCAA Championship's first round. The Blue and Orange battled hard in a very competitive doubles point that saw all three matches go to tiebreakers before Arizona pulled out the wins. After a hard-fought match, the Broncos closed out the season 20-11 overall.

๐Ÿ”ผ Going Out On Top. Following her performance in the postseason, Boise State womenโ€™s tennisโ€™ Nicole Discenza was named to the Mountain West All-Tournament Team. The senior earned the spot after going 2-0 against San Jose State with wins in both singles and doubles matches. Discenza ended her Boise State women's tennis career with a 61-30 overall record, including a 16-11 mark from the No. 5 position.

๐Ÿ”ผ Con-Grad-ulations. Boise State Athletics had 44 current and former student-athletes earn degrees on Saturday as part of the Spring Commencement at ExtraMile Arena. The group represents 14 different sports programs, including soccer alum Jocelyn Stephens who was named a Top Ten Scholar.

๐Ÿ”ผ In The Spotlight. Second-year graduate assistant, Bailey Hawkins, is pursuing a degree in the Master of Athletic Leadership (MAL) program and works as the assistant to the head coach for Boise State Football. She previously was a GA in the BroncoLife branch of the athletics department. In her role, Hawkins is responsible for keeping coach Danielson on track, managing his schedule, organizing the slides for team meetings with any information coach Danielson needs, and attending team and operation meetings.
