🔷 ONE BIG THING

Four former Boise State NCAA champions were named to the Mountain West 25th Season Outdoor Track and Field Teams.

Emma Bates, a 2014 NCAA Champion in the 10,000m, ran the second-fastest time in NCAA history at the time. She was a two-time MW Champion who took home titles in the 5,000m and 10,000m events.

Kurt Felix, a 2012 NCAA Champion in the men’s decathlon, took home the title with first-place finishes in the long jump, high jump and javelin throw to earn a personal best of 8,062 points. He also took home the MW title in the decathlon in the same year where he won five events.

Allie Ostrander, a three-time NCAA Champion in the 3,000m women’s steeplechase, took home gold in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She became the first female athlete to win three straight national titles in the steeplechase and just the 15th to win three consecutive titles in the same event.

Kristie Schoffield, a 2022 NCAA Champion, set a Mountain West, program and personal record time of 2:01.29 in the 800m. She was the third woman in Boise State outdoor track and field history to capture an individual national title.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Golden Glover. Former Boise State softball player Tara Glover was announced to the Mountain West's 25th Season Team ahead of the start of the 2024 Mountain West Softball Championship. Glover is the lone All-American in program history thanks to her NFCA third-team nod in 2012. The three-time All-Mountain West selection was named the conference's Co-Player of the Year in 2012 and her conference record for batting average (.476) stands to this day.

🔼 Sticking With It. Former Bronco gymnast Hope Masiado will return to the program as the Director of Operations. In her role with Boise State, Masiado will serve as a liaison between coaching and support staff members, coordinate travel plans and schedules, manage inventory, facilitate public inquiries and ensure compliance with Boise State and NCAA guidelines.

🗣️ "I am so happy to welcome Hope back to our program as our new chaos coordinator. We're looking forward to working together to give our student-athletes the best experience possible." - Tina Bird, head coach

🔼 Drawing Inspiration. Ahead of the postseason for men’s golf, 2024 Mountain West Champion Cole Rueck describes what it’s like to play among the best and his feelings on when his name was called during the NCAA Selection Show.

🗣️ “I look at those two names as inspiration of where I want to get to…you can get to the highest level at Boise State.” - Cole Rueck
