During the 1980 season, Boise State football was led by the “Four Horseman” senior backfield in quarterback Joe Aliotti (pictured), fullback David Hughes, halfback Cedric Minter and halfback Terry Zahner. The team completed a historic season that saw the Broncos:

• Finish with a record of 10-3

• Rank No. 7 in the AP Poll

• Win a fifth Big Sky title

• Win the team’s only NCAA DI-AA National Championship, defeating Eastern Kentucky 31-29

🔼 Not Done Yet. Guess who’s back! Boise State head coach Shawn Garus announced that Annie Kaminsky will return to the Bronco Gym for one final season this fall. Entering her sixth year of eligibility, the middle blocker has started 65 matches and has accumulated 508 kills, 248 blocks and 647 points.

🔼 Preseason Praise. More accolades came Boise State football’s way as a trio of Broncos received All-America distinctions in the Phil Steele 2024 Preseason All-America team release. Garnering Preseason All-America honors were running back Ashton Jeanty (Second Team), punter James Ferguson-Reynolds (Third Team) and defensive lineman Ahmed Hassanein (Fourth Team). The team’s three selections are the most of any non-P4 team and ranks eighth nationally.

🔼 La Familia. Boise State men’s basketball signee for the 2024-25 season has been named to the U-22 Spain National Team for this summer’s action. Cardenas will compete for his home country as he gears up for the start of the college basketball season.
