In his amateur career, the Arizona native has been ranked in the top 250 of the Junior Golf Scoreboard and the top 15 of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona rankings. He earned runner-up honors at the 2023 Ping Invitational and the 2022 Ping Thunderbird Invitational.

He also placed third in doubles at the May 24, 2024, USTA National L2 tournament in Sacramento, Calif.

🔼 Ready To Work. Boise State track and field announced Kelsey Betthauser as the assistant coach. Betthauser will work with Boise State's throwers and joins the program from Idaho where she worked with the same group. The Broncos’ newest addition joined the Vandals in August 2022 where she coached athletes to three NCAA West Preliminary appearances, five conference titles, and a school record holder in the weight throw.
