🔼 Resounding Victory. A commanding offensive performance from the Broncos propelled the squad to a 56-14 victory over Portland State in Boise State’s home opener on Saturday night. The Broncos, who improved to 2-1 on the season, combined for 609 total yards - 342 on the ground and 267 in the air. The total marks the first time since 2016 that Boise State has recorded two games with over 500 yards in its first three games. Quarterback Maddux Madsen finished with 188 yards through the air and four total touchdowns, while tight end Matt Lauter netted a career-high 91 yards on seven catches. The special teams unit came up big with three blocked kicks, marking the first time the squad has blocked multiple kicks since blocking two against New Mexico on Nov. 20, 2021.

🔼 Good Way To Go Out. Boise State volleyball closed nonconference play with a sweep over the UTSA Roadrunners on the final day of the SFA Invitational for the team’s eighth win of the season. Paige Bartsch finished with 12 kills, one service ace, three digs, and one block solo for 14 points while Anabel Kotzakov matched Bartsch's kills and point totals and added one service ace, eight digs and two block assists. The Broncos will open Mountain West play next week with a two-match road trip to Fresno State and San Jose State.
🔼 Call It A Comeback. Boise State women's soccer defeated Eastern Washington 2-1, on Sunday afternoon. Eastern Washington scored first in the 26th minute, but Boise State tied the match right before halftime with a goal in the 44th minute. Sophie Schmautz headed the ball into the right side of the net, receiving it directly from a corner kick from Jillian Anderson for her first career goal. In the 53rd minute, Avery McBride secured the lead for the Broncos after putting a pass from Carly Cross, making the final score 2-1. Next up, Boise State will open up conference play as they travel to face Fresno State on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m.
🔼 Impressive Work. Freshman Maya Dutta impressed in her singles debut, finishing undefeated en route to winning the top draw of the Boise State Classic. All ten Broncos competed in the tournament, and all four newcomers picked up their first victories in the Blue and Orange at the three-day event. In doubles, both Dutta and Safarova and Lorelyz Marruffo and Paula Schaefer finished the weekend 2-1.
🗣️ "Obviously a highlight of the weekend was Maya winning the top flight and going 3-0 over the three days. She's continuing to get better day by day and growing in her game. We're excited that she brought home the title." - Beck Roghaar, head coach
🔼 Hitting The Links. Boise State women’s golf team will continue the fall season with another tournament hosted by Golfweek, playing in the Red Sky Classic starting today and going through September 25. The last time out, the Broncos finished in seventh place at the Golfweek Fall Challenge where Jillian Hui was the top Bronco, tying for 18th with a career-best 2-over par.
