Good morning! Take this Monday morning to catch your breath after a busy weekend for the Broncos with recaps from Boise State volleyball, football, tennis, and golf.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Another Won. In their last game of the Boise State Classic, the Broncos rallied from a set down to nab a win against Montana in a 3-1 victory. Paige Bartsch, one of the Broncos’ All-Tournament Team selections, led the team with 21 kills, three service aces, and 24.5 points. The other All-Tournament Team pick was Boise State libero, Breanna Mitchell, who finished with 21 digs on the match.

Next up, the Broncos will begin Mountain West play at home against Colorado State.

🔼 In The Mix. With two rounds in the books from Boise State men’s golf at the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational, the Broncos head into Day Two in the middle of the pack at six-over par.

The team’s low man of the day was Cole Rueck who finished one-under par as he sits in a tie for 16th place. Will O’Connor and Drew Reinke round out the top three for the Broncos in a tie for 32nd as each finished the day at two-over par.

🔼 Tennis Time. Both Boise State tennis teams were in action this weekend as each saw success in their respective tournaments.

🎾 Bronco women’s tennis finished with three top-three finishes including doubles team Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo’s second place finish in the Blue Draw.

🎾 Boise State men’s tennis wrapped up the Der Walters Invite on their home court with solid play that included a 7-1 record in singles from freshmen Kyvan Rietkerk and Liam Toroman.

Bronco men’s basketball is hopping back in the saddle soon, and like AD Jeramiah Dickey said, get those season tickets while you can Bronco Nation!

🔷 ONE BIG THING

Boise State, in the early slate of action, picked up their first win of the season after holding North Dakota to 183 total yards and forcing two turnovers.

Running back Ashton Jeanty shined again, racking up three rushing scores on the day. The passing game got involved at a high-level too with wide receiver Eric McAlister breaking out with six receptions, 143 yards, and two touchdowns from two different quarterbacks.

The Broncos defense played their best game of the season. Marco Notarainni flew around the field with 13 total tackles, and forced a fumble, gifting the offense a free possession. Six players recorded at least one sack, resulting in only 41 rushing yards for North Dakota.

Heading into their next matchup with a win under their belt, the Broncos will take on their first Mountain West opponent of the season, San Diego State.
